Lightweight interchangeable magnetic sleeve and method of manufacture thereof
A lightweight interchangeable magnetic sleeve and method of manufacture thereof are disclosed. The sleeve assembly comprises an annular tube in the exterior surface having recesses filled with comparatively rigid magnetic means which are firmly adhered therein. The sleeve assembly includes a tubular radially compressible liner component, relatively slightly shorter than the tube, and bonded inside and substantially axially centrally within the tube thus leaving interior cylindrical end regions of the tube exposed beyond the annular end surfaces of said liner. The remaining exposed interior cylindrical surfaces of the tube are rebated back from the liner exposing annular shoulders within the tube. The rebates are tapped so that correspondingly sized threaded end rings of a more structurally robust, rigid and resilient material than the tube material, can be fitted into the tube ends and tightened against the annular shoulders created by the rebating, placing the entire sleeve assembly under slight compression.
PROCESSING STATION HAVING A FIRST AND A SECOND CYLINDER FOR PROCESSING A SUBSTRATE WEB
A processing station for processing a substrate web supplied and led away with a substantially continuous speed includes an impression roller and two tool cylinders. Within one revolution of the tool cylinder, the transport speed of the substrate web at a contact area between tool cylinder and impression roller can periodically vary relative to the rotation speed of the tool cylinder. Of the two tool cylinders, at any time only one is in an operative state in that it is in engagement with an impression roller. The other tool cylinder is in a non-operative state in which it can be made accessible for thereon exchanging a tool plate.

Method for operating a device for printing hollow bodies
A method for operating a device for printing hollow cylinder is provided. The device comprises a rotating segmented wheel with a plurality of printing cylinders arranged successively along the periphery of the device. A plurality of plate cylinders are provided in association with the segmented wheel. According to a printing process to be performed, a selected quantity of plate cylinders is thrown onto the segment wheel or is thrown off the segment wheel. In a first printing process, a first partial quantity of thrown-on plate cylinders transfers printing ink to a plurality of the printing blankets arranged on the segment wheel. At the end of the printing process, at least some of the plate cylinders, that were thrown on the segment wheel in the first printing process, are thrown off the rotating segment wheel. During constant uninterrupted rotation of the segment wheel, for the implementation of a second printing process, a second partial quantity of plate cylinders is thrown onto the segment wheel and respectively transfer printing ink to a plurality of the printing blankets arranged on the segment wheel. The respective printing forme of at least one plate cylinder involved in the first printing process, and uninvolved in the ongoing second printing process, is changed during the ongoing printing process.
Method for printing on hollow bodies
A method is provided for printing on hollow bodies in which the hollow bodies are printed on in a decorator having a rotating segment wheel. Printing ink provided by multiple different plate cylinders and inking units are each collected on printing blankets arranged one after another on the circumference of the segment wheel. The plate cylinders and inking units involved in the printing are arranged and set in such a way that, when printing on the hollow body, an iris print is, or at least can be implemented.

MAGNETIC STENCILING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A method of stenciling a stenciled graphic in a desired position and orientation on the graphic-display surface of a substrate includes providing at least one stencil template defining the stenciled graphic and at least one guide element including mutually-space template positioning indicia. Both the stencil template and the guide element are magnetically attracted to the substrate. The guide element is magnetically affixed to the graphic display surface in a desired location and orientation. The stencil template is magnetically affixed to the graphic-display surface in a location selected with positioning reference to at least one template-positioning indicium of the guide element. With or without the guide element still affixed, pigment is applied to the graphic-display surface through the at least one stencil template to impart to the graphic-display surface the desired stenciled graphic. The at least one stencil template is then removed from the graphic-display surface.
