Printing plate holding apparatus

A printing plate holding apparatus is provided which during a high speed printing operation reduces vibrations and noises caused in a groove for having a grip leading end and a grip trailing end of a printing plate inserted therein, which can fasten the printing plate with greater certainty, and which is suitable for the printing plate to be held securely on such as a sleeve cylinder whose weight reduction is demanded. It is a printing plate holding apparatus in which a printing plate 5 wound on a plate cylinder 2 is to be held securely thereon in a rotary press, the apparatus having a plate insertion groove 4 formed on an outer peripheral surface of the plate cylinder 2 and extending axially of the plate cylinder 2 for receiving a grip leading end 5a and a grip trailing end 5b of the printing plate 2, and comprising a printing plate retainer plate 6 and a tap bolt 7 for bringing both widthwise lateral end portions of the grip leading and trailing ends 5a and 5b of the printing plate into overlapping each other in the plate insertion groove 2 and for pressing and fastening them against a constraint surface 4b with which the grip trailing end 5b is in contact, in the plate insertion groove 4.

Automatic handling and transport device for printing sleeves

An automatic handling and transport device for printing sleeves that includes a holding support (10) for printing sleeves (60) and a clamping carriage (20) connected to a motorized carriage (30) for a guided movement of the clamping carriage (20) between a gripping position for gripping sleeves (60) and a transport position, and a mobile handling unit (90) carrying the holding support (10). The holding support (10) has an inner core (12) attached to the mobile handling unit (90), and the holding support (10) is coupled to the core (12) or to the mobile handling unit (90) through adaptable support means (40), which provide a relative movement with respect to the core (12) to at least one of the two ends of the holding support (10). The connection of the clamping carriage (20) to the motorized carriage (30) comprises adaptable means (49) that allow a relative movement between the clamping carriage (20) and the motorized carriage (30).

A printing blanket is provided which may include a printable surface ply, a compressible ply, one or more reinforcing fabric plies, and a non-extensible backing layer comprising a polymeric material. The printing blanket has first and seconds ends which are adapted to be inserted into the gap of a printing blanket cylinder, where each of the first and second ends may include a relief area formed by removing or molding a portion of the blanket or by removing or molding a portion of the non-extensible backing layer such that the blanket may be mounted in a wide variety of printing presses using a number of different lock-up mechanisms.

Printing cylinder assembly for a printing machine

A printing cylinder assembly for a printing machine includes a rotating shaft pivotally supported at one axial end shaft section thereof in a cantilever structure, and a sleeve cylinder removably mounted on the rotating shaft so that the cylinder can be fitted on and extracted from the rotating shaft from the other axial end side of the rotating shaft. The rotating shaft is formed at one axial end side thereof with a sleeve cylinder supporting tapered surface, and the sleeve cylinder is formed at one axial end side of an inner diameter portion thereof with a tapered surface, whereby the tapered surface of the sleeve cylinder can be fitted on and in close contact with the sleeve cylinder supporting tapered surface of the rotating shaft and thereby detachably coupling one axial end portion of the sleeve cylinder with one axial end portion of the rotating shaft.

PRINTING ROLLER AND METHOD FOR MOUNTING A PRINTING ROLLER

A jacket-securing arrangement is disclosed for mounting in a cylinder, which cylinder (220) has an outer surface and at least one recess (320) in the outer surface for receiving an inwardly turned edge of a replaceable jacket (225) overlying at least part of the outer surface of the cylinder. The jacket-securing arrangement is mountable within the recess so as not to project beyond the outer surface of the cylinder when the jacket is secured thereto, and includes a clamping lever pivotable about a shaft located within the recess between a clamping position in which the edge of the replaceable jacket is clamped between the lever and a side wall of the recess and a release position in which the lever is spaced from the side wall of the recess. A magnet is provided to retain the lever in the clamping position. The clamping lever is formed of two or more members assembled around the shaft and defining between them a bearing surface engaging an outer surface of the shaft. The shaft may be a gripper shaft including a plurality of grippers for securing a printing substrate sheet to the outer surface of a substrate transport cylinder of a printing system, the jacket-securing arrangement being disposed between grippers.

Anilox roller, particularly for flexographic printing machines

An anilox roller for flexographic printing machines, which comprises a sleeve cylinder rotatably supported about its own axis by the fixed structure of a flexographic printing machine, and an anilox sleeve, which has a tubular body provided, on its outer side wall, with an anilox surface which can be axially fitted on and removed from the sleeve cylinder. Forced circulation of a temperature control fluid within the tubular body is further provided.
