Systems and methods for aligning preprinted images on a roll of substrate to the moving components of a web press are disclosed. A method in accordance with one embodiment includes determining the speed of the moving components of the press, determining the speed of the web of preprinted images and adjusting the speed of the web of preprinted image to match the speed of the web. In particular embodiments, a press which produces rolls of preprinted material can be modified to change the equivalent cutoff length of the press. In further embodiments, a method of pasting new rolls of material to expiring rolls of material is accomplished by modulating the drive speed of the new roll of material to match the expiring roll of material while at the same time aligning the images on the new roll with the expiring roll.

ALIGNMENT METHOD AND DEVICE FOR SCREEN PRINTING PROCESS

An alignment method for screen printing process includes: attaching a transparent film on a to-be-printed substrate in such a manner that the transparent film covers at least a to-be-printed region of the to-be-printed substrate, forming a printed pattern including an alignment mark on the transparent film by using a screen printing plate to imprint printed material onto the transparent film, and comparing whether the alignment mark on the transparent film is aligned with an alignment mark on the to-be-printed substrate. When the alignment mark on the transparent film is aligned with the alignment mark on the to-be-printed substrate, it is determined that current positions of the screen printing plate and the to-be-printed substrate are final alignment positions. When the alignment mark on the transparent film is not aligned with the alignment mark on the to-be-printed substrate, the current position of the screen printing plate or the to-be-printed substrate is adjusted.

The machine comprises: a plurality of printing units each of which has a printing cylinder movable so as to allow adjustment of the position of the image printed by that cylinder in two perpendicular adjustment directions relative to the web of printing material; first manually-operated adjustment means arranged to allow a user to adjust manually the position of each printing cylinder; image acquisition means arranged to acquire images of register marks printed by the printing units along one or both sides of the web of material; and display means arranged to show, on an enlarged scale, the images acquired by the image acquisition means, so as to allow the user to detect any misalignments between the register marks and to properly adjust the position of one or more printing cylinders to clear said misalignments. The image acquisition means comprise a plurality of cameras each of which is arranged to frame.

Method of correcting a screen printer and a board inspection system using the same

The present invention relates to a method of correcting a position of a stencil mask which comprises receiving fiducial information from a screen printer, extracting position information of a pad and position information of a solder formed on a board through measuring by a solder paste inspection apparatus, estimating an x, y offset value and a rotating amount of a stencil mask based on the fiducial information by using the position information of the pad and the solder, and transmitting the x,y offset value and the rotating amount of the stencil mask to the screen printer. Thus, a reliability of solder forming process may be increased by correcting a stencil mask position by transmitting a feedback of an x,y offset value and a rotating amount of the stencil mask from a solder paste inspection apparatus, in which the x,y offset value and the rotating amount are estimated based on fiducial information transmitted from the screen printer.
