A cleaning arrangement for a coater that has a plate cylinder, the cleaning arrangement having a cleaning web, a tangential moving mechanism configured to controllably move the cleaning web in at least one direction in a plane defined by the cleaning web, a radial moving mechanism configured to controllably move the cleaning web in at least one direction out of the plane, and a controller coupled to the tangential and radial moving mechanisms which is configured to control the moving of the cleaning web into and out of contact with the plate cylinder in conformity with input signals received by the controller.

PROCESSING MACHINE HAVING A PLURALITY OF PROCESSING STATIONS FOR THE PROCESSING OF ARTICLES
A processing machine is configured, in particular, as a printing machine and has a plurality of processing stations for the processing of typically hollow bodies. The processing stations for the processing of the bodies are arranged in an operating chamber each at different positions, in a state in which they are lined up in a row in the direction of transport of the bodies which are to be processed. The processing stations are arranged in the same horizontal plane in the operating chamber. A body which is to be processed, or which has been processed, is transported from one processing station to the next processing station beneath that horizontal plane in which the individual processing stations are arranged. A plurality of simultaneously operated, or simultaneously operable, handling devices are provided in the operating chamber. Each handling device is provided for transporting at least one body which is to be processed, or which has been processed. At least two of the handling devices, which are arranged in the same operating chamber and are simultaneously operated, or are at least simultaneously operable, are arranged in different horizontal planes arranged vertically one above the other and are each moved, or at least are capable of being moved, horizontally in the respective plane.

A processing machine is configured, in particular, as a printing machine and has a plurality of processing stations for the processing of typically hollow bodies. The present invention embraces a method and apparatus for providing feedback to a user on the status of media or ribbon of a printer. The feedback may be provided by incorporating a feedback mechanism in a hanger of a printer. The printer may be a thermal printer, but may be another type of printer. The feedback mechanism of the printer may be designed to work with one or more sensors to provide a feedback loop so that without an input from a user, the printer is able to detect the presence/absence of media or ribbon, as well as determine the width of the loaded media or ribbon. In another embodiment, the feedback mechanism is able to determine the weight of the roll of media or ribbon and hence determine the quantity of media or ribbon available on the hanger.

The present invention embraces a method and apparatus for providing feedback to a user on the status of media or ribbon of a printer. The feedback may be provided by incorporating a feedback mechanism in a hanger of a printer. The printer may be a thermal printer, but may be another type of printer. The feedback mechanism of the printer may be designed to work with one or more sensors to provide a feedback loop so that without an input from a user, the printer is able to detect the presence/absence of media or ribbon, as well as determine the width of the loaded media or ribbon. In another embodiment, the feedback mechanism is able to determine the weight of the roll of media or ribbon and hence determine the quantity of media or ribbon available on the hanger.
PROCESSING MACHINE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A PROCESSING MACHINE SYSTEM
A processing machine system has at least one mobile control unit. At least one substance-related feature of the processing machine system can be detected by the mobile control unit. Upon detection of the substance-related feature by the mobile control unit, data which is associated with the feature can be made available to a user by the mobile control unit. A method is provided for operating such a processing machine system. The invention provides an alternative processing machine system or an alternative method for operating a processing machine system. The data associated with the feature contains data concerning at least one consumable of the processing machine system.
PROCESSING MACHINE SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR OPERATING A PROCESSING MACHINE SYSTEM
A processing machine system has at least one mobile control unit. At least one substance-related feature of the processing machine system can be detected by the mobile control unit. Upon detection of the substance-related feature by the mobile control unit, data which is associated with the feature can be made available to a user by the mobile control unit. A method is provided for operating such a processing machine system. The invention provides an alternative processing machine system or an alternative method for operating a processing machine system. The data associated with the feature contains data concerning at least one consumable of the processing machine system.

A method for operating a system for a multiple dynamic job sequence includes providing a packet of information in order to process different production runs. An additional packet of information is used to inquire about respective states during the manufacturing process so as to enable interventions to be made based on the jobs being not processed as originally. An additional packet of information is received, from which information regarding physical detection of a printing and processing situation is taken such that each downstream processing machine is able to identify the job and a job end. By identifying the job and the job end, an additional packet of information is forwarded to the plant controller, the plant controller detecting an actual state of the manufacturing process therefrom such that new or adapted job sequences and job ends are directly defined during the manufacturing process.
