Braille printing device
A braille printing device includes a device body; a linear actuator with an actuator body and an actuator hammer; a liquid ejection unit, including a liquid container a resin piston, and a dispensing tube; a slidable connector with a groove; a vertical stop; a trigger switch; a slide stop member; a slide holder plate including a slide holder back portion, a slide stop member, and first and second sliding rails; and a control unit, such that the braille printing device deposits spherical domes of printing fluid on a printing substrate to form a braille text.
Tactile printing system and method
This invention is a novel method for tactile printing which comprises of a low power energy source to heat temperature sensitive elements within a medium such as microcapsule paper.
DEVICE FOR MECHANICALLY RENDERING BRAILLE USING MOTION HAPTIC STIMULATION TECHNOLOGY
A device comprising rotating cylindrical shafts to create a virtual sensation of Braille text by integrating a microprocessor with microdrive actuators. The microdrive's shafts are flush or level with the device's display surface thereby emulating the standard diameter and feel of a Braille dot or Braille space. This sensation of a rotating dot is the result of the top face of the shafts positioned flush with the device's display surface. Actuators that alternate between rotating shafts and shafts at rest produce Braille cell dots and spaces, respectively.
CHARACTER OUTPUT DEVICE
A character output device with which reading of print characters is not hindered by Braille characters even when Braille characters are output over print characters is provided. A character output device (1) includes a storage unit (2) that stores font data made up of a print character layer and a Braille character layer, a print character printing unit (3) that prints print characters onto a medium for output based on the print character layer, and a Braille character output unit (4) that outputs Braille characters onto the medium on which the print characters have been printed, based on the Braille character layer. Characters included in the font data are configured so that every dot portion (P) that forms a Braille character overlies a line portion (L) that forms a print character. When outputting the Braille characters onto the medium on which the print characters have been printed, the Braille character output unit (4) makes registration such that every dot portion (P) that forms a Braille character overlies a line portion (L) that forms a print character.
