Inkjet and direct thermal printable media
Provided is a printable coating, printable media and printable labels thereof, usable in both inkjet and direct thermal printing applications. The coating comprises leuco dye blended into an inkjet coating formulation, wherein the coating is applied on the first face of an appropriate paper or film to form the printable media. The coating may be applied as a single, homogenous topcoat thereby streamlining the manufacturing process and reducing potential printing errors. The coating may provide a printable area compatible for use with both direct thermal printers and inkjet printers. On the opposite face of the paper or film, an adhesive may be applied, in combination with an optional release liner, to form printable label stock. Each step of the process, e.g. application of the coating, application of the adhesive and liner, and die-cutting of labels, may occur in any order combination relative to one another. In addition, reverse printing may also be utilized to print and form the labels.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING METHOD
An image forming apparatus includes a liquid discharge device and processing circuitry. The liquid discharge device includes at least one nozzle group, where N represents an integer, to discharge liquid. The processing circuitry causes the first nozzle group to discharge in a first scan, causes the second nozzle group to discharge in a second scan, and causes the N-th nozzle group to discharge in an N-th scan to form a complete image. The processing circuitry, with respect to an image completion rate indicating a rate of an image formed by each of the first nozzle group to the N-th nozzle group in the complete image, sets the image completion rate of a portion of the first nozzle group adjacent to the second nozzle group in the sub-scanning direction to be not higher than the image completion rate of any one of the second nozzle group to the N-th nozzle group.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REGISTERING AND PRINTING A FLEXIBLE WEB
A printing system comprises a transport apparatus adapted to transport a flexible web along a process direction and first and second individually controllable ink jet imager units offset from one another along the process direction. Each of the first imager unit and the second imager unit includes a first portion operable to print on a first portion of the web and a second portion operable to print on the second portion of the web wherein each of the first portion and second portion of the first and second imager units is stationary along the process direction and the lateral direction.
Apparatuses and methods for printing security documents
A digitally printed security document includes: a security document substrate; a first digitally printed print working on a first surface of the substrate in a first region, the first print working including a first array of printed elements arranged according to a first grid of lattice points having a first pitch; and a second digitally printed print working on the first surface of the substrate in a second region, the second print working including a second array of printed elements arranged across a second grid of lattice points having a second pitch different from the first pitch.

Apparatus and method for printing print objects with independently movable printheads
The invention relates to a printing apparatus for printing print objects, comprising a machine base body which has a width side and a longitudinal side and is designed to accommodate at least one print object, a guide device which is arranged above the machine base body and extends over the print object over the width of the machine base body, and a printing device which is designed to print the print object and is moveably arranged on the guide device over the width of the machine base body. The printing device comprises at least one first print head unit and a second print head unit, which can be independently moved relative to each other over the width of the machine base body on the guide device, wherein each print head unit has at least one print head which is designed to print the print object with at least one printing ink. In addition, the invention relates to a print method for printing textile surfaces, in particular with the apparatus, according to the invention, in which at least one print object is held on a machine base body and a printing device is delivered to the at least one print object. The first print head unit and at least one second print head unit of the printing device are independently moved over the width of the holding base body relative to each other along a guide device and print the at least one print object with a printed image.
Ejection device, imprint apparatus, and detection method
An ejection device includes: an ejection unit provided with an ejection port configured to eject an ejection material; a piezoelectric element configured to cause the ejection material to be ejected from the ejection unit; a first liquid chamber connected to the ejection unit and configured to supply the ejection unit with the ejection material; a pressure control unit configured to control a pressure in the ejection unit by controlling a pressure in the first liquid chamber; and a detection unit configured to detect a wetness of an ejection port side surface.
Adjusting printer maintenance operations
A processor maintains image quality degradation for a printing device. A communications device receives a print job that includes instructions to print a plurality of printed sheets in a sheet printing sequence. The processor generates a predicted output image for a mid-job sheet of the printed sheets based on the image quality degradation and the sheet count of the mid-job sheet within the sheet printing sequence. The printing engine alter printing characteristics to print a proof sheet matching an appearance of the predicted output image.
PRINTED MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PRINTED MATERIAL
A printed material includes: a recording medium having a pressure-bonding surface on which an image portion and a pressure phase transition layer are formed, the recording medium being folded upon the recording medium and pressure-bonded; or a recording medium having a pressure-bonding surface on which an image portion and a pressure phase transition layer are formed and an additional recording medium, the recording medium and the additional recording medium being stacked and pressure-bonded together. When the printed material is unfolded into an unfolded medium by peeling pressure-bonded surfaces of the printed material off from each other and a surface of the unfolded medium that corresponds to the pressure-bonded surfaces of the printed material is observed, an exposed area ratio EA of the pressure phase transition layer in an outer edge portion E located in a location corresponding to at least one of edges of the printed material is smaller than an exposed area ratio IA of the pressure phase transition layer in a region other than the outer edge portion E.
