PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a printing portion that performs printing on a medium transported in a transport direction, a transport roller that supports the medium, a pressing roller that is capable of rotating with a width direction set as an axial direction and that press the medium down toward the transport roller, and a roller support portion that supports the pressing rollers so as to be capable of revolving with an axis of revolution, which is an axis of revolution in which a direction that intersects both directions of the transport direction and the width direction set as an axial direction thereof and which is positioned between an end portion of a first end side and an end portion of a second end side in the axial direction of the pressing rollers, set as a center thereof.
PRINTER WITH VACUUM DEVICE
A printer includes a print station; a media transport mechanism arranged for conveying print media on a transport path past the print station, the transport mechanism having a support surface for supporting the media; and a vacuum device arranged for attracting the media against the support surface on a section of the transport path downstream of the print station. The vacuum device is divided, in the direction along the transport path, into at least two segments in which the media are attractable with different non-zero suction pressures.
3D PRINTER WITH PRESSURE-ASSISTED FLUID EXTRACTION
A three-dimensional (3D) printer and method are provided, including a substrate, a liquid deposition device configured to deposit a liquid dispersion including a suspension of a particulate material in a liquid vehicle, the liquid vehicle including a solvent but devoid of a binder material, onto the substrate to form a non-patterned layer on the substrate, a solvent removal device configured to remove at least a portion of the solvent from the liquid vehicle from the non-patterned layer to form a dried non-patterned layer, and a liquid binder print head configured to deposit a liquid binder onto the dried non-patterned layer to form a printed pattern on the dried non-patterned layer.
SCANNING INKJET PRINTER
An air knife assembly is provided to jet an air current to control the landing of sheet of print media during transfer between two adjacent conveyors in a printer. The air knife forming unit is configured for jetting an air curtain formed such that said air curtain and air currents resulting from it flow substantially perpendicular to a transport direction of the conveyors. Thereby, lifting and consequently wrinkling of the leading edge during transfer and landing may be avoided.
CURL COMPENSATION THROUGH SELECTIVE INK USAGE
Examples of curl compensation through selective ink usage are described. In an example, whether curling is likely to occur on a printed page may be determined. The page may be printed using a first ink lacking anti-curl properties and a second ink having anti-curl properties in response to determining that curling is likely to occur.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND CONVEYANCE CONTROL METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a conveyance path including a curving part, an inversion path for inverting a medium upside down, and a control unit, and the control unit includes a first mode for conveying the long medium at a first speed when a surface that faces inside when the long medium is rolled in a roll shape and a surface that faces inside when conveyed in a curved shape through the curving part are the same, and a second mode for conveying the long medium at a second speed lower than the first speed of the first mode when the surface that faces inside when the long medium is rolled in the roll shape and the surface that faces inside when conveyed in the curved shape through the curving part are different from each other.
CURL COMPENSATION THROUGH SELECTIVE INK DEPLETION
Examples of curl compensation through selective ink depletion are described. In an example, whether printing in a region of a page is likely to produce curling of the page may be determined based on a page location and a print density of the region. The region of the page may be printed with a depleted amount of an ink in response to determining that printing the region at the page location with the print density is likely to produce curling of the page.
JETTED MATERIAL PRINTER WITH PRESSURE-ASSISTED FLUID EXTRACTION
A three-dimensional (3D) inkjet printer is configured to build up an object by printing a series of layers and stacking them to form the object. In order to speed printing, drying of each layer is accelerated by using a pressure differential to extract liquid vehicle from the ink, and by moving the printed layer away from the inkjet print heads before drying so that the inkjet print heads may print the next layer. The dried printed layer may also be conditioned and/or cured. Dried printed layers are stacked at a build station to assemble the finished object.
IMAGE RECORDING APPARATUS
An image recording apparatus includes: a first path for conveying a recording medium in order of a stacking portion on which the recording medium is stacked, a recording portion for recording an image on the recording medium, a heating portion for recording the image, and a discharge portion for discharging the recording medium; a second path branching off from the first path at a first branch part between the recording portion and the heating portion, and for discharging the recording medium to the discharge portion without passing through the heating portion; and a third path branching off from the first path at a second branch part between the recording portion and the first branch part, and for conveying the recording medium, the recording surface of which is inverted, toward between the stacking portion and the recording portion in the first path.
Printer
In a printer that performs printing on a label of a continuous paper while feeding the continuous paper unwound from a paper sheet supply unit to a side of a printing head portion via a damper portion, a head pressure plate is arranged between an operating portion that adjusts a pressing force against a thermal head portion and a printing line of the thermal head portion such that the head pressure plate is formed extended to connect them.
