Image recording apparatus

When an image recording apparatus records an specific image over a boundary between a first dot formation range where dots are to be formed in a preceding recording operation of two consecutive recording operations and a second dot formation range where dots are to be formed in a subsequent recording operation of the two consecutive recording operations, the apparatus sets, as a correction portion, an end portion in a scanning direction of a specific region including at least one of a first boundary region adjacent to the second dot formation range and a second boundary region adjacent to the first dot formation range in the specific image, and forms the dot placed at the correction portion by discharging liquid of a discharge amount smaller than the discharge amount set for a dot element corresponding to the dot from nozzles.

A novel heating device includes a heating member configured to heat a sheet on an opposite face opposite a liquid applied face. The heating member has a curved portion along which the sheet is conveyed and warped so that the liquid applied face has a concave shape.

Image recording apparatus

An image recording apparatus includes a first path for conveying a recording medium in order of a stacking portion on which the recording medium is stacked, a recording portion for recording an image on the recording medium, a heating portion for heating the image, and a discharge portion for discharging the recording medium; a second path branching off from the first path at a first branch part between the recording portion and the heating portion, and for discharging the recording medium to the discharge portion without passing through the heating portion; and a third path branching off from the first path at a second branch part between the recording portion and the first branch part, and for conveying the recording medium, the recording surface of which is inverted, toward a location between the stacking portion and the recording portion in the first path.

RECORDING APPARATUS

A recording apparatus includes a recording unit, a conveyance unit, an application amount information acquisition unit, a determination unit, a direction information acquisition unit, and a setting unit. The recording unit performs recording by applying ink to paper. The application amount information acquisition unit acquires information related to an amount of ink that the recording unit applies to a predetermined region of the paper. The determination unit determines execution of prevention or reduction processing for preventing or reducing curling occurring after recording is performed. The determination is made according to the acquired amount of ink. The direction information acquisition unit acquires information indicating a paper grain direction of the paper relative to a conveyance direction in which the conveyance unit conveys the paper. The setting unit sets the predetermined region according to the paper grain direction relative to the conveyance direction indicated by the acquired paper grain direction information.

LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS, PRINTER, AND LIQUID DISCHARGE METHOD

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a first liquid that generates heat in an absorption wavelength region of an active energy ray, a first discharger configured to discharge the first liquid, a second liquid that starts polymerization in the absorption wavelength region of the active energy ray, a second discharger configured to discharge the second liquid, and an irradiator configured to irradiate the first liquid and the second liquid with the active energy ray.

A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a print medium, a printhead configured to print an image by discharging ink to the print medium conveyed by the conveyance unit, a heating unit provided downstream of the printhead with respect to a conveyance direction of the print medium and configured to heat the print medium on which the image is printed by the printhead, and a correction unit provided downstream of the heating unit with respect to the conveyance direction and configured to correct curl occurring in the print medium. The apparatus controls to delay, between the heating unit and the correction unit, the conveyance of the print medium heated by the heating unit.

Fuser with endless belt supported by rotational member

A fuser includes an endless belt; a heat source to heat the endless belt; a pressing roller to press the endless belt to form a heating nip, through which a printing medium is to pass, the pressing roller to rotate the endless belt; a pair of supporting members spaced apart from each other in an axial direction of the endless belt; and a pair of rotational members that are loosely inserted into an inner portion of the endless belt, respectively at two side end portions of the endless belt, the pair of rotational members to be rotatably supported by the pair of supporting members and rotated with the endless belt.

Decurling device and image forming apparatus

A decurling device includes: a first transporter including a transport roller, the first transporter that sandwiches a transported sheet and transports the transported sheet further downstream; and a second transporter including an endless belt that is in contact with the transport roller. The transport roller has an elasticity that, when the belt is pressed against the transport roller, allows the belt to bite into the transport roller by a bite amount corresponding to a pressing force, the second transporter includes an abutting member disposed inside the belt, the abutting member includes an upstream protrusion, an downstream protrusion, the upstream protrusion and the downstream protrusion being provided at positions away from each other at an upstream portion and a downstream portion in a sheet transport direction.

Jetted material printer with pressure-assisted fluid extraction

A three-dimensional (3D) inkjet printer is configured to build up an object by printing a series of layers and stacking them to form the object. In order to speed printing, drying of each layer is accelerated by using a pressure differential to extract liquid vehicle from the ink, and by moving the printed layer away from the inkjet print heads before drying so that the inkjet print heads may print the next layer. The dried printed layer may also be conditioned and/or cured. Dried printed layers are stacked at a build station to assemble the finished object.

A printer includes a record section, a discharge section, a mount section, a movable rib, a move section, and a control section. The record section records on a sheet by ejecting an ink to the sheet. The discharge section discharges the sheet. The mount section has a mount surface on which the sheet discharged is mounted. A movable rib is configured to protrude from the mount surface and supports the sheet. The dimension of the movable rib in an A-direction is larger than the dimension thereof in a Y-direction. The move section moves the movable rib in a C-direction. The control section controls, based on temperature and humidity information, movement of the movable rib made by the move section.
