DIGITAL PRINTING PROCESS AND APPARATUS OF A SUBSTRATE IN THE FORM OF CONTINUOUS SHEET
A substrate in the form of a continuous sheet is fed towards a belt conveyor and is lied out on the conveyor itself. By means of the belt conveyor, the substrate is moved along a feed direction, while a printing unit operating above the belt conveyor realizes a print pattern on the substrate. The printed substrate is withdrawn by a traction unit operating downstream of the belt conveyor. In a section of its longitudinal extension between the belt conveyor and the traction unit, the substrate is subjected to a braking action to retain the substrate in contrast to traction actions induced on the same by the traction unit. A drying group operates on the substrate in the area affected by the braking action, with a combined action of radiation and ventilation.
INKJET PRINTER AND METHOD FOR ACQUIRING GAP INFORMATION
An inkjet printer is provided that is configured to store a plurality of pieces of gap information respectively corresponding to a plurality of examined sections discretely arranged along a head moving direction on a recording sheet, each of the plurality of examined sections including a corresponding one portion of top portions and bottom portions on the recording sheet, and calculate interpolation gap information to be interpolated over a whole width in the head moving direction of at least one of a plurality of segments, each of which has a width in the head moving direction defined by two adjacent sections of the plurality of examined sections, based on the stored gap information.
PAGE WIDE ARRAY PRINT JOB INTERRUPTIONS
Examples include a method comprising preparing nominal firing data of a print job for a first printhead die and for a second printhead die of a page wide array printer. The first printhead die is located downstream from the second printhead die along a media path of the printer, the printhead dies being offset along the media path by an offset distance. The methods comprises starting printing by applying the nominal firing data to the printhead dies; receiving a print job interruption request during printing of the print job; and in response to receiving the job interruption request, modifying the nominal firing data to obtain modified firing data for interrupting printing using the first printhead die while continuing printing using the second printhead die during a specific time period after the first printhead die interrupted the printing, the specific time corresponding to the offset distance.
PRINTING METHOD AND PRINTING DEVICE
A method and a device as provided for printing a large surface which is situated, in particular, on a substrate which cannot be fed to a printing device. The method is distinguished by the fact that the perpendicular spacing Azo of a reference point of the device at a plurality of points which are distributed over the printing web from the surface to be printed is determined in each case at the points which are distributed over the printing web, and the perpendicular spacing Az of the print head from the surface to be printed is set in accordance with a previously recorded measured value. Here, the plurality of points can be distributed uniformly over the length of the printing web. The device for carrying out the method has a measuring device for contactless measurement of the spacing between a reference point of the device and the surface to be printed. Furthermore, the device has a control unit for evaluating the measured values and producing control pulses for setting the spacing Az of the print head from the surface to be printed.
PRINTING APPARATUS
The printing apparatus includes a medium support member including a support surface that supports a sheet of paper on which printing is to be performed, and a positioning member that positions the support surface of the medium support member. The positioning member is a plate-shaped member and is configured to position the support surface of the medium support member, with the medium support member contacting with an end face intersecting a plate surface of the positioning member.
Printer with sheet feeding past multiple printheads
A printer includes: a first fixed printhead having a respective first print zone; a second fixed printhead positioned downstream of the first printhead relative to a media feed direction, the second printhead having a respective second print zone; an input roller assembly positioned upstream of the first platen, the input roller assembly being configured for feeding media sheets along a downward trajectory towards the first print zone; and an intermediary roller assembly positioned between the first and second print zones, the intermediary roller assembly being configured for receiving the media sheets from the first print zone and feeding the media sheets along a downward trajectory. The second print zone is positioned relatively lower than the first print zone.
LARGE FORMAT PRINTER
In a large format printer, a print head which includes a plurality of drive elements is provided with a head drive circuit which applies a voltage which is based on a first drive signal, a second drive signal, and a reference voltage signal which are input from a control circuit via a cable to the drive element. In a first flat cable and a second flat cable which configure the cable and which are in an overlapping state, a first wire which propagates a first drive signal is adjacent to a third wire which propagates a reference voltage signal, a second wire which propagates a second drive signal is adjacent to a third wire, and, in an overlapping direction, the first wire faces the third wire and the second wire faces the third wire.
Liquid discharging apparatus
A liquid discharging apparatus includes a print head that discharges a liquid, a carriage that is mounted on the print head, a control signal generation circuit, a drive signal generation circuit, a first cable through which a drive signal generation control signal is transmitted to the drive signal generation circuit, a second cable through which a drive signal is transmitted to the print head, a control circuit substrate on which the control signal generation circuit is provided, and a drive circuit substrate on which the drive signal generation circuit is provided. The shortest distance between the control circuit substrate and the carriage is longer than the shortest distance between the drive circuit substrate and the carriage. The drive circuit substrate is provided at a position where a region in which the carriage moves and at least a part of the drive circuit substrate overlap each other.
Printer calibration
A printer includes a page wide array of printing elements extending in a first orientation and co-located with a media path extending in a second orientation generally perpendicular to the first orientation. The printer is selectively operable according to a calibration involving current calibration values for a first subset of the page wide array of printing elements and a substitute calibration value for at least one non-first subset printing element of the page wide array immediately adjacent to at least one of the first subset printing elements.
