Printer configured to set operation mode to one of first mode and second mode for appropriately determining whether to allow subsequent print control
A printer includes: a printing head; a conveyor; a cutter for cutting the medium to provide a segmented medium; a discharge roller; a counter roller; a sensor for detecting whether the segmented medium remains between the discharge roller and the counter roller; and a controller configured to perform: setting an operation mode to one of a first mode and a second mode depending on a medium kind; controlling the printing head and the conveyor to perform a first print control on the medium; controlling the sensor to detect whether the segmented medium has been removed; and permitting a second print control to be performed. When the operation mode is the first mode, the second print control is permitted after the sensor detects whether the segmented medium has been removed. When the operation mode is the first mode, the second print control is permitted without controlling the sensor.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR EXECUTING DISCRIMINATION PROCESS OF PRINTING MEDIUM USING MACHINE LEARNING MODEL
A method for executing a discrimination process of a printing medium includes a step (a) of preparing N machine learning models when N is an integer of 1 or more, a step (b) of acquiring target spectral data which is a spectral reflectance of a target printing medium, and a step (c) of discriminating a type of the target printing medium by executing a class classification process of the target spectral data using the N machine learning models.
CONVEYANCE DEVICE, IMAGE FORMATION APPARATUS, AND IMAGE FORMATION SYSTEM
A conveyance device includes a conveyance path on which a medium is carried; a first detector that detects the medium on the conveyance path and generates first property data; and a hardware processor that acquires the first property data and second property data generated by detecting the medium disposed at a position away from the conveyance path.
Recording device with knocking unit for knocking medium during recording
A recording device includes a recording unit configured to perform recording on a first surface of a medium, a holding unit configured to hold a roll body obtained by rolling the medium, a transport unit configured to transport the medium unwound from the roll body, and a knocking unit configured to knock on a second surface of the medium between the holding unit and the recording unit, the second surface being a surface opposite the first surface. The knocking unit knocks on the second surface by moving between a spaced position for being spaced apart from the second surface and a contact position for making contact with the second surface.
PRINTER, CONTROL METHOD OF PRINTER, AND NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE MEDIUM
A printer that allows selection of a plurality of types of print media includes, a control unit that stores a plurality of pieces of registration information, the registration information including one set of a plurality of printing setting items used for printing, the plurality of printing setting items include an item regarding the type of the print medium.
Printer for security paper
A printer for security paper, such as a multifunction printer, a printer, a facsimile machine or a copier, is configured to perform a printing operation by distinguishing between security paper and normal paper. The printer for security paper includes: security paper sensor disposed on a printing paper feeding path; and a control unit for comparing a first sensing value sensed by the security paper sensor when printing paper to be determined is not present near the security paper sensor with one or more second sensing values sensed by the security paper sensor for the corresponding printing paper on the feeding path, during the course of conveying the corresponding printing paper on the feeding path, determining printing paper as security paper when a comparison value is above a predefined reference value, and determining printing paper as normal paper when the comparison value is below the predefined reference value.
TAPE CASSETTE
A tape cassette that includes a housing having a front wall and a tape feed exit located on the front wall, a tape included at least partially within the housing, and a pressing portion and a first non-pressing portion on the front wall. The pressing portion and the first non-pressing portion are positioned to oppose tape type detecting switches of the label printer when the cassette is in the label printer. The pressing portion is configured to change a state of an opposing one of the tape type detecting switches, and the first non-pressing portion is configured to avoid changing a state of an opposing one of the tape type detecting switches. The first non-pressing portion is a planar area of the front wall extending in a tape width direction from a top surface of the housing to a bottom surface of the housing.
PRINTING SYSTEM, PRINT MEDIUM SPECIFYING METHOD, AND MEDIUM INFORMATION PROVIDING DEVICE
For a plurality of types of print media, a pre-trained model is prepared, the pre-trained model being generated by machine learning based on spectroscopic information of an unprinted area on the print medium and an identifier indicating the type of the print medium and using the identifier as a trainer. The spectroscopic information of the unprinted area on the print medium to print on is acquired. The acquired spectroscopic information is applied to the pre-trained model. Using a result thereof, auxiliary information about the type of the print medium is outputted. A specification of the type of the print medium using the outputted auxiliary information is accepted. When the type of the print medium is thus specified, printing is performed using a print condition suitable for the print medium.
Switch status detection device that detects on/off status of switch, and image forming apparatus
A switch status detection device includes a power source, a first resistor, a first switch, a control device, and a first capacitor. The first resistor has one end connected to the power source. The first switch is configured to switch between a connected state and a disconnected state of a first contact point, provided on a first current path between the other end of the first resistor and ground. The control device detects an on/off status of the first switch, on a basis of a voltage at the other end of the first resistor. The first capacitor has one end connected to the first contact point at a position on the first current path on a side of the first resistor with respect to the first contact point, and the other end connected to the power source or the ground.
