Method, Apparatus, and System for Implementing Seat Lifting
20170258652 · 2017-09-14 ·

Novel tools and techniques might provide for implementing seat lifting. In various embodiments, a seat lifter might include one or more first pistons, one or more second pistons, and a seat portion. The one or more first pistons, when actuated (e.g., in response to user input), might cause a rear portion of the seat portion to lift relative to a front portion of the seat portion, the rear portion of the seat portion being lifted by a first height above a seat to which the seat lifter is affixed. The one or more second pistons, when actuated, might cause the front portion of the seat portion to lift by a second height above the seat, the second height being less than the first height. In some instances, the first pistons and the second pistons might be actuated serially (in either order), or might be actuated concurrently.

TOILET SEAT LIFTING APPARATUS

The invention relates to a toilet seat lifting apparatus for promoting hygiene and cleanliness in public and/or domestic environments. It apparatus uses a first member for attachment to a toilet bowl rim and an energy storage member in the form of a conical spring. The spring is connected between the first member and the underside of a toilet seat in order to supply a continuous lifting force to urge a toilet seat upwards away from the toilet bowl and the first member. When fully compressed the three-dimensional spatial volume occupied by the conical spring will be minimised to allow a toilet seat to adopt its intended horizontal orientation upon a toilet bowl during use.

The presently disclosed subject matter is directed to a walker comprising a portable lift toilet seat. Particularly, the walker is defined by a frame that supports a toilet seat, a cover, and a pair of actuators. The cover provides a privacy feature, hiding the toilet seat from view during normal operation of the walker. When needed, the cover can be lifted or folded away to allow the user to access the toilet seat. The toilet seat can then be lifted and/or lowered by actuators positioned on either side of the walker. In this way, a user can easily be positioned over a toilet to use the bathroom without the need for a caregiver to lift and lower him. The user can also be lifted after they are done using the bathroom to return to a standing position or sitting position.
