Liquid ejecting device and space detection method
11279126 · 2022-03-22 · ·

A liquid ejecting device includes a support portion configured to support a medium, an ejecting unit configured to eject liquid, a detector including sensors, and a control unit configured to determine, based on a detection result from the detector, a first space being a space between the ejecting unit and the medium. The sensors include a first sensor, a second sensor provided downstream of the first sensor in an ejection direction, and a third sensor provided at a position between the first sensor and the second sensor in the ejection direction. The control unit determines that the first space is in an error state when the first sensor detects the medium, and determines the first space based on a detection result of the medium when the first sensor does not detect the medium but at least one of the second sensor and the third sensor detects the medium.

Platen for use in printing on a flexible garment

A garment printing machine is provided with a transportable platen that can be utilized to significantly decrease the delay in printing expended in loading and unloading a garment for printing in either a digitized garment printing machine or a screen garment printing machine. The platen is provided with structure that holds a print receiving area of a garment firmly in position atop a print panel support plate that forms a part of the platen. Furthermore, the invention includes a platen support structure that cooperates with the conventional couplings on existing conventional garment printing machines. A plurality of transportable platens constructed according to the invention are utilized interchangeably so that while one garment loaded on one of the platens is being printed upon in the printing machine, the prior garment just printed upon is unloaded and the next garment to be printed is loaded onto another identical platen. This totally avoids any delay in printing due to loading and unloading of garments on the platens.

MOVABLE THERMAL PRINTING DEVICE
20210309026 · 2021-10-07 ·

The present invention relates to a movable thermal printing device, which comprises a gear set, a pressing roller set, and a heating component. The gear set includes a first motor, a first gear, and a rack gear. The pressing roller set includes a frame, a first roller, and a second motor. A sensing medium is attached below the first roller. When the first gear rotates counterclockwise, the rack gear, the pressing roller set, and the sensing medium will be driven to move upwards and away from the heating component. When the first gear rotates clockwise, the rack gear, the pressing roller set, and the sensing medium will be driven to move downwards and contact the heating component for printing sensing medium and for avoiding the sensing medium from contacting the heating component in reverse rotation and thus avoiding the problems of damages or print failure.

PREVENTING PRINTING ERRORS DUE TO PRINT MEDIA DEFORMATIONS

Method and devices for dynamically preventing printing errors caused by a media deformation are disclosed. In one example, a pen to print media space (PPS) distance is measured. A media deformation is identified in response to measuring the PPS distance. A corrective function is identified in response to identifying the media deformation. The corrective function identified is then performed. The proposed method provides for consistent quality across a print.
