In a print device, the conveyance member conveys a tape on which printing is performed. The tape has a base material and a release material bonded together. The tape includes a print portion on which an image is printed by the head. The printed tape is used to create a printed matter. The half cutter performs a half cut to cut through the release material without cutting through the base material. The full cutter performs a full cut to cut through the tape conveyed by the conveyance member. The controller controls the half cut so that the half cutter cuts through the release material at a position downstream side of a most downstream end of the print portion of the printed tape, which is conveyed by the conveyance member and is printed by the head, in a conveying direction of the tape.

A trimming device includes: a moving unit including a transport unit that transports a booklet which includes one or more sheets and which is folded in half at a center portion of the booklet, with a folded portion of the booklet at a front, a correction unit that corrects a posture of the booklet in response to a leading end of the booklet transported by the transport unit abutting against the correction unit, the correction unit being capable of advancing to an abutting position on a path of the booklet and retracting from the path, and an upper guide unit that extends at least between the transport unit and the correction unit, the upper guide unit that guides an upper surface of the booklet, the moving unit being movable in a transport direction between (i) a predetermined upstream position and (ii) a downstream position downstream of the upstream position in the transport direction; a lower guide unit that guides a lower surface of the booklet transported by the transport unit; and a cutting unit that cuts a downstream fore edge portion of the booklet in the transport direction, the cutting unit being capable of advancing to the path of the booklet and retracting from the path of the booklet. The upper guide unit is configured such that a gap between the upper guide unit and the lower guide unit widens in accordance with a thickness of the booklet to allow the booklet to pass through the gap.

A printing apparatus includes a feeding unit, a conveyance unit, a cutting unit, and a control unit. The conveyance unit nips the print medium conveyed from the feeding unit by a first roller and a second roller, and conveys the nipped print medium. The cutting unit cuts the print medium. The control unit: (1) performs control to make a command speed of the first roller lower than a command speed of the second roller until a printhead printing reaches near a trailing edge of a printing length after printing has started, (2) performs control to make the command speed of the first roller higher than the command speed of the second roller when the printing has reached near the trailing edge of the printing length, and (3) subsequently controls the cutting unit configured to cut the print medium.

A printer comprises at least one longitudinal cutter module to cut a print medium in a longitudinal direction with respect to a print media advance direction. The printer comprises a controller to position the longitudinal cutter module along a direction perpendicular to the print media advance direction. The controller is to receive a full-bleed print job and in response to receive print job to position the at least one cutter module along the direction perpendicular to the print media advance direction. The longitudinal cutter module is positioned by the controller to longitudinally cut the print medium.
