PRINTING DEVICE
20170274677 · 2017-09-28 ·

A printing device includes a printing unit, a pair of transporting rollers (a pair of rollers) that is disposed right before the printing unit and that transport a medium to the printing unit, and a transportation direction changing mechanism that is disposed on an upstream side of the pair of transporting rollers and that changes a transportation direction of the medium before the medium is nipped by the pair of transporting rollers. The transportation direction changing mechanism changes a transportation direction of a following medium such that a leading end portion of the following medium overlaps a preceding medium when the printing unit performs printing in a state where the preceding medium is nipped by the pair of transporting rollers.

Printing apparatus and printing method

A printing apparatus includes an encoder that detects the rotation of a driving roller that forms a transport device, an imaging device that images a medium during transport by the transport device, and a controller. In a second detecting unit, the imaging device images the medium irradiated with light that the light emission controller causes the light-emitting unit to emit through a strobe control signal. The second detecting unit acquires movement amount of the medium using a plurality of images with different imaging times at which the medium is imaged. In the first detecting unit, a latching circuit holds a rotation amount of a driving roller totaled by a counter at a timing based on the strobe control signal. The controller controls the discharge timing of the print head based on the rotation amount and the movement amount.

PRINTING SYSTEM FOR CUT SHEETS COMPRISING A PAPER PATH WITH A LOOP

The present invention relates to a printing system for cut sheets, the printing system comprising a control unit for controlling the printing of image data on a plurality of sheets and scheduling the plurality of sheets in a printing order, the plurality of sheets having different media properties, and a paper path comprising a loop in order to enable printing on the plurality of sheets in an interweaving first and second pass in the loop, and a print engine for disposing marking material on the sheets according to the image data. The print system comprises a pattern recognition module for recognizing a repeating pattern in the plurality of sheets on the basis of the media properties of the sheets. The control unit is configured to determine the entrance time of each of the plurality of sheets for entering the loop in the paper path for the first pass and for the second pass while taking the repeating pattern recognized by the pattern recognition module and a length of the loop into account.

Conveying apparatus and printing apparatus

A conveying apparatus has first and second trays arranged on an upstream of a conveyor and configured to support the sheet in contact with the conveyor, a feeder configured to feed the sheet on the first tray toward the conveyor, a first sensor configured to output a first signal in response to the sheet being present on the first tray, a second sensor configured to output a second signal in response to the sheet being present between the first tray and the conveyor and configured to output the second signal in response to the sheet being present between the second tray and the conveyor, and a controller configured to execute a removal notifying process to output a notification indicating removal of the sheet on the first tray in response to output of the second signal before a time period since the first signal was output exceeds a threshold period.

BEND SENSOR

The disclosure discloses a tape printer including a print data generating portion, and a coordination control portion. The print data generating portion is configured to generate print data in which two processed letter strings generated by applying predetermined decorative tape process to the one or two letter strings accepted by a letter string accepting portion are arranged at one end portion and another end portion of a decorative print-receiving tape in a tape length direction, the decorative print-receiving tape having a full length set by a full-length setting portion. The coordination control portion is configured to control a feeder and a printing head in coordination with each other using the print data generated by the print data generating portion, to produce the decorative tape with print having the full length.

Device for redirecting sheets in a printing system

A device for redirecting sheets in a sheet transport mechanism, especially sheets of a print medium in a printing system includes a support member, which carries or supports at least one guide member for directing a path of travel of a sheet. The support member is configured to be mounted adjacent a first transport path of a plurality of sheets and such that the support member is movable between a first inoperative position in which the at least one guide member does not impinge upon the first transport path, and a second operative position in which the at least one guide member is introduced into the first transport path to redirect one or more of the sheets to a second, alternative transport path. The device further includes an actuator configured to move the support member between the first and second positions. The actuator is connected to the support member such that vibrations imparted by the actuator to the support member, as the support member moves between the first and the second positions, are substantially parallel to the first transport path.

PRINTING APPARATUS

A printing apparatus includes a transport portion that transports a medium, a printing head that performs printing on the medium, a medium detection device that is arranged upstream of the printing head in a transport direction of the medium and detects a side edge of the medium in a width direction intersecting with the transport direction, and a control unit that controls the transport portion, the printing head, and the medium detection device.
