Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes: a head portion that discharges droplets toward a printing medium while reciprocating on the printing medium; and a controller that controls movement of the head portion during a printing operation such that a movement stop time of the head portion when a movement direction of the head portion is reversed at an endmost portion of a range in which the head portion moves is longer than the movement stop time of the head portion when the movement direction of the head portion is reversed on the printing medium.
CONTINUOUS MODE PRINTING
A print job having a number of pages is printed in a continuous mode, on media advanced at a constant speed. The print job can thus be effectively treated as having a single page. The media that are advanced for printing the print job can similarly be effectively treated as being a single medium.
MECHANICAL HANDWRITING QUALITY CONTROL METHOD
The invention comprises an apparatus and method of use thereof for processing a machine produced emulated handwritten document prepared on a marking surface, comprising the steps of: receiving a print job order; digitally generating a reference image of the print job order; machine plotting with a plotting pen and a downward force of one-half to forty ounces applied to said plotting pen an indentation trail to form input text on the marking surface; digitally imaging the input text on the marking surface to form an actual image; and in a quality control step, digitally comparing the reference image to the actual image prior to insertion of the print job order into an envelope.
Media printing
Printing techniques for print media are described herein. In an example, a printer includes print head and a feed roller to move a medium under the print head along a print path. The print head includes a first set of nozzles such that the first set of nozzles is proximal to the feed roller. Further, the print head is to print on a Top-of-Form (TOF) of the medium through the first set of nozzles.

Printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes: a platen that supports a printing medium; a head-portion that discharges droplets toward the printing medium while reciprocating on the printing medium; an interval-adjusting-mechanism that adjusts an interval between the platen and the head-portion; and a controller that controls the head-portion and the interval-adjusting-mechanism, in which the controller has a first printing mode in which printing is performed while the interval is set to a first interval and a second printing mode in which the printing is performed while the interval is set to a second interval that is larger than the first interval, as a printing mode in which the printing is performed on the printing medium. The controller controls movement of the head-portion such that a movement stop time of the head-portion when a movement direction of the head-portion is reversed is longer in the second printing mode than in the first printing mode.
Vacuum-belt for an inkjet printing device
An inkjet printing device includes a vacuum-belt and vacuum-table including a flat area positioned between a first and second air-groove aligned along a conveying direction. The vacuum-belt includes a first column of vacuum-belt-air-channels connected to the first air-groove a second column of vacuum-belt-air-channels connected to the second air-groove, and a third column of vacuum-belt-air-channels connected to the flat area by a plurality of air channels formed by a rough layer at the back-side of the vacuum-belt and/or a rough layer on the flat area.

Ink-jet printing device for costumized printing of images on sheet-like materials and machine with such device
An ink jet printing device for customized printing of images on a face of a sheet material includes a frame with a top surface defining a running plane for a face of the sheet material, with guides transverse to the running direction of the material, a printing unit that can move along the guides and has a printing head therein, a supply source supplying the printing head with printing ink, and a movement system driving the printing unit along the guides. The printing head faces the running plane for depositing the ink on the sheet material, and the supply source includes a secondary reservoir, mounted in the printing unit and in fluid connection with the head, and a main reservoir in fluid connection with the secondary reservoir for refilling the secondary reservoir and maintaining the level of ink above a predetermined threshold value, ensuring supply to the printing head.
Inkjet printer having an aerodynamic element for reducing turbulences
An inkjet printer having at least one print head in which an aerodynamic element is placed before (e.g. in a transport direction) a recording medium (e.g. in the form of a sheet or page or plate) to reduce or avoid turbulences that may arise due to the relative motion between print head(s) and recording medium at an edge of the recording medium.
