Medium transportation device, printer, and cutting device
A medium transportation device includes a support table to support a medium, and a conveyor to transport the medium supported by the support table in a transportation direction. The conveyor includes a driving roller, a rail, and a pinch roller assembly. The driving roller is provided on the support table, extends in a perpendicular direction that is perpendicular to the transportation direction, and is rotatable in the transportation direction. The rail faces the support table and extends in the perpendicular direction. The pinch roller assembly is in engagement with the rail so as to be movable in the perpendicular direction along the rail. The rail includes shorter rails arranged along a line extending in the perpendicular direction.

MEDIA PROCESSING APPARATUS AND RECORDING APPARATUS
A media processing apparatus includes a media transporter, a stacking portion on which media are stacked, a binding processing portion that binds an upstream end portion of a media bundle, a pair of ejection rollers that eject the media bundle, and a displacement mechanism that displaces a first roller of the pair of ejection rollers to a nipping position at which the media bundle is nipped and a separated position at which the first roller is separated from the media bundle, in which, when the media bundle, the upstream end portion of which is closed, is to be ejected from the stacking portion, the first roller is disposed in the nipping position and ejection of the media bundle is started, the first roller is displaced to the separated position during ejection of the media bundle, and, thereafter, the first roller is disposed again at the nipping position.

ELECTROSTATIC CHARGING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SHEET TRANSPORT
A media sheet drive has a continuous belt of a dielectric material for transporting sheet media supported on the belt in a transport direction. A launch mechanism is used to launch a sheet medium onto a top surface of the belt. A charging circuit including a charging roller is used to charge a top surface of the sheet medium and the belt as the sheet medium is launched. Charging acts to generate an electrostatic tacking force to tack the sheet medium to the belt. The charging roller has a second function to smooth out curled edges of paper as it is acted on by the charging circuit so that the full extent of a launched sheet medium may be subject to the electrostatic tacking force.
Media conditioning
In some examples, a conditioner system for a media printed by a printing system includes a media conditioning assembly comprising a heater, the media conditioning assembly to receive the media printed by the printing system after the media has been heated by a dryer in the printing system after printing has occurred on the media. Responsive to a determined moisture content of the media, the heater of the media conditioning assembly controls a temperature of the media, and the media conditioning assembly controls a speed of the media through the media conditioning assembly.
