A first conveying unit is allowed to be in contact with a print medium loaded on an uppermost portion of the one or more print media loaded on a print medium loading unit to convey the print medium from the uppermost portion. The first moving unit moves at least one of the one or more print media and the first conveying unit in each of directions in which the uppermost portion and the first conveying unit are close to each other and directions in which the uppermost portion and the first conveying unit are far away from each other.

Multi-layer label assembly apparatus

A multi-layer label assembly apparatus. A label printing apparatus, a label dispensing mechanism, and a receptacle affixed to the label printing apparatus in a position adjacent the label dispensing mechanism are provided.

PICKING MEDIA SHEETS FROM MEDIA TRAYS WITH RETRIES

An example method for picking a media sheet from a media tray, the method comprising: controlling a media picker to perform a pick procedure to pick the media sheet from the media tray; upon detecting an error condition in the pick procedure, translating the media sheet in a direction within a plane of the media sheet; and controlling the media picker to retry the pick procedure to pick the media sheet from the media tray.

A printer includes a printer body, a hopper, an open-and-close cover, a paper support, and a support holder. The hopper pushes paper up while supporting the paper. The open-and-close cover is able to be opened from and closed toward the printer body. The paper support is provided in such a way as to be able to be housed inside and drawn away from the open-and-close cover, and is configured to support the paper by being drawn out. The support holder supports the paper, together with the hopper and the paper support. The support holder switches between an upright orientation for being housed into the printer body and a tilted orientation for supporting the paper together with the hopper and the paper support by the opening and closing of the open-and-close cover.

Conveyance device, application device, printer, and sheet conveyance apparatus

A conveyance device includes a tray on an upper surface of the conveyance device and an upper guide below the tray. The tray receives a sheet, and the upper guide defines a conveyance path in which the sheet is conveyed. The upper guide is movable together with the tray to open the conveyance path.

INTEGRATED CARTRIDGE AND PRINTER USING THE SAME

A printing device includes: a pair of conveyer rollers for nipping a printing medium at a nipping position and conveying the printing medium in a conveying direction; a cutter unit positioned downstream of the conveyer rollers; a discharge tray positioned downstream of and below the cutter unit; and a controller. The controller is configured to perform: (a) cutting the printing medium by the cutter unit into first and second printing mediums; and (b) discharging the second conveying medium on top of the first printing medium on the discharge tray. The discharge tray is positioned to satisfy a formula of H1>4×10.sup.−7×D1.sup.4, where H1 represents a distance in a gravitational direction between the nipping position and a mounting surface of the discharge tray; and D1 represents a distance in the conveying direction between the nipping position and a downstream end of the cutter unit.

Transport apparatus and recording apparatus

A transport apparatus includes a mounting section on which a medium is to be mounted, a drive section configured to drive the mounting section in a moving direction and a protection section configured to be switched between a protection state for protecting the drive section and a release state for releasing protection of the drive section. The mounting section has a driven section that engages with the drive section and is driven by the drive section. When the driven section driven by the drive section engages with the drive section, the protection section is in the release state, and when the driven section does not engage with the drive section, the protection section is in the protection state.

ESTIMATING MEDIA LEVELS USING REGRESSIONS

An example method for estimating a media level of a media stack in a printer includes storing a media level model correlating a picker metric of a media picker to pick media from the media stack to the media level; measuring a current picker metric when the media picker picks the media from the media stack during a print job; adding the current picker metric to a historical data set; updating the media level model by generating a regression for the historical data set; and based on the current picker metric and the updated media level model, estimating a current media level of the media stack.
