According to one embodiment, a printer includes a housing that has an outlet, a drawer unit, first, second and third print medium support units and a printing unit. The drawer unit slides in the outlet between an open position and a closed position. The first supporting unit is disposed in the drawer unit and supports a roll of printable media when the drawer unit is in the open position so that an outer surface of the roll of printable media does not extend above the height of the outlet. The second supporting unit is disposed in the housing and rotatably supports the roll of printable media when the drawer unit is in the closed position so that a portion of the outer surface of the roll of printable media extends above the height of the outlet. The printing unit prints on printable media fed from the roll of printable media.

According to one embodiment, a printer includes a housing that has an outlet, a drawer unit, first, second and third print medium support units and a printing unit. The drawer unit slides in the outlet between an open position and a closed position. The first supporting unit is disposed in the drawer unit and supports a roll of printable media when the drawer unit is in the open position so that an outer surface of the roll of printable media does not extend above the height of the outlet. The second supporting unit is disposed in the housing and rotatably supports the roll of printable media when the drawer unit is in the closed position so that a portion of the outer surface of the roll of printable media extends above the height of the outlet. The printing unit prints on printable media fed from the roll of printable media.

A roll body supporting device that rotatably supports a roll body includes a shaft member inserted into a core of the roll body, a shaft outer circumference member fixed to an outer circumference of the shaft member, a core support member that is inwardly in contact with and fits on the core, and a rotation support section that connects the shaft outer circumference member to the core support member and supports the core support member in a manner to be rotatable about the shaft member relative to the shaft outer circumference member.

A roll body supporting device that rotatably supports a roll body includes a shaft member inserted into a core of the roll body, a shaft outer circumference member fixed to an outer circumference of the shaft member, a core support member that is inwardly in contact with and fits on the core, and a rotation support section that connects the shaft outer circumference member to the core support member and supports the core support member in a manner to be rotatable about the shaft member relative to the shaft outer circumference member.
ROLLED PAPER PRINTING APPARATUS
A rolled paper printing apparatus includes a roller, a cutter capable of cutting the rolled paper and including a first blade and a second blade, a first blade-side guide capable of guiding, from the side of the first blade, the paper transported, and a paper guide including a first guide and a second guide. The paper guide includes a first arm on which the first guide is mounted rotatably about a first shaft, a second arm on which the second guide is mounted rotatably about a second shaft, and an arm shaft that rotatably supports the first arm and the second arm. The first guide and the second guide are pushed by the first blade moving in the first direction, and move in the first direction while rotating from a first position at which the paper can be guided and reach a second position.
ROLLED PAPER PRINTING APPARATUS
A rolled paper printing apparatus includes a roller, a cutter capable of cutting the rolled paper and including a first blade and a second blade, a first blade-side guide capable of guiding, from the side of the first blade, the paper transported, and a paper guide including a first guide and a second guide. The paper guide includes a first arm on which the first guide is mounted rotatably about a first shaft, a second arm on which the second guide is mounted rotatably about a second shaft, and an arm shaft that rotatably supports the first arm and the second arm. The first guide and the second guide are pushed by the first blade moving in the first direction, and move in the first direction while rotating from a first position at which the paper can be guided and reach a second position.

A rolled paper printing device includes a cover that opens/closes a case, a roller that draws out paper from rolled paper, a head for printing, a cutter that cuts the paper, and a paper guide mounted on the cover. When the cover is closed, a paper discharge port for discharging the paper is formed, and the paper guide includes a first guide that guides a first surface of the paper, a second guide that guides a second surface of the paper, a first opening into which the paper discharged from the paper discharge port is inserted, a second opening communicating with the first opening, the paper being taken out from the second opening, and a projection formed at the first guide and configured to come into contact with the first surface of the paper at a position downstream of the second opening in a transport direction.

The tape cartridge including a roll by around which the tape is wound in a roll shape, a cartridge case in which the roll body is accommodated and which is common to the plurality of types of the tape cartridges, a spacer portion that is provided between the cartridge case and a first end surface which is one end surface of the roll body, and has a varying size in a tape width direction depending on the type of the tape cartridge such that a position of the center of the tape is common to the plurality of types of the tape cartridges in the tape width direction, and an urging member that is provided between the cartridge case and a second end surface which is another end surface of the roll body and urges the roll body to a first end surface side.
