REMOTE PROGRAMMING OF UNIQUE AND SECURE SUPPLY TAGS
A method for providing remote programming of a supply tag of a print supply used with an authorized entity's card personalization system is provided. The method includes an issuance server authenticating remote programming of the supply tag, receiving first supply tag data of the print supply including a first digital signature, updating the first supply tag data to obtain second supply tag data, and issuing a second digital signature based on the second supply tag data. The second digital signature secures the second supply tag data.
Adhesive tape cartridge, adhesive tape roll, and method of manufacturing an adhesive tape roll
The disclosure discloses an adhesive tape cartridge including an adhesive tape roll. The adhesive roll winds an adhesive tape around a predetermined axis in a housing. The adhesive tape includes a base layer, a first particle-containing adhesive layer, and a second particle-containing adhesive layer. The first particle-containing adhesive layer is disposed on a first side of the base layer in a thickness direction and comprises an adhesive to which particles are added. The second particle-containing adhesive layer is disposed in contact with a surface on the first side of the first particle-containing adhesive layer in the thickness direction and comprises an adhesive to which particles of the same material as the particles are added.

Media replacement process for thermal printers
The present invention embraces a method and apparatus for improving ribbon replacement for thermal printers. The present invention also applies to replacement of other media in associated printers. The improvement is achieved based a ribbon adapter or media adapter that is designed for two conditions: 1) catch condition for printing, and 2) release condition for replacing the media in the printer. By a single click or press of a button, a user can switch between the two conditions. The printing operation occurs during the catch condition. The catch condition ensures that there is no or little relative movement between media core and media adapter. The media adapter can also support different diameter media cores. The release condition is implemented when the user replaces media. The release condition can provide a relatively easy replacement of a media without a significant force or pressure.

TAPE CASSETTE INCLUDING TAPE AND COVER FILM, AND METHOD OF CREATING LABELS WITH THE TAPE CASSETTE
A tape cassette includes a tape, a transparent cover film, and an ink ribbon. The tape has a thickness in a thickness direction and a width in a width direction. The tape is configured of a plurality of laminated layers including: a transparent base layer; a background layer having a width smaller than the width of the tape in the width direction; and a release layer constituting one surface of the tape in the thickness direction. The transparent cover film is to be bonded to the tape. The ink ribbon contains ink to be transferred to one of the tape and the cover film.
PRINT CARTRIDGE, TAPE GUIDE, AND PRINTING DEVICE
A print cartridge mounted in a printing device including a cartridge mounting portion and a substrate connecting portion having an elastic contact portion elastically displaceable in a first direction and in the cartridge mounting portion, and a receiving portion in the cartridge mounting portion and, located along the first direction with respect to the substrate connecting portion, the print cartridge includes cartridge case, a substrate attaching portion in the cartridge case, a circuit substrate attached to the substrate attaching portion, located between the substrate connecting portion and receiving portion, brought into contact with the elastic contact portion, and pressed to the receiving portion side by an elastic force of the elastic contact portion in the first direction when the print cartridge is mounted in the cartridge mounting portion, and a receiving contact portion located between the circuit substrate and the receiving portion and comes into contact with the receiving portion.
RIBBON CARTRIDGE
A ribbon cartridge can be properly attached to and detached from a cartridge mounting portion. The ribbon cartridge includes a paying-out core around which an ink ribbon is wound, a cartridge case having a ribbon core accommodating portion accommodating the paying-out core and a winding core, in which the ribbon core accommodating portion is near one side of the cartridge case in a longitudinal direction, and in the cartridge case, a head insertion portion into which a head cover is inserted is on the other side of the cartridge case in the longitudinal direction, which is an opposite side to the one side, and a grip portion for gripping the cartridge case is near the one side when the ribbon cartridge is mounted in the cartridge mounting portion.
