Tape cartridge
A tape cartridge is detachably installed on a tape printing apparatus provided with a detection portion which detects attribute information of the tape cartridge installed on a cartridge installation portion on which the tape cartridge is installed. The tape cartridge includes a wound printing tape and a core shaft. In the tape cartridge, the core shaft is positioned at an inner peripheral side of the wound printing tape, and the core shaft includes a detection object which faces the detection portion when the tape cartridge is installed on the tape printing apparatus.
Printer
The disclosure discloses a printer including a memory storing computer-executable instructions. In an index value detecting process, pulse count index values are detected. In a remaining amount determining process, first process, second process, third process, and fourth process are executed. In the first process, an Nth determination object value is calculated from an Nth and an N+1th pulse count index values. In the second process, an average value is calculated from a plurality of successive pulse count index values in a range including a latest value that is an Nth pulse count index value when N is an even number or is an (N1)th pulse count index value when N is an odd number of three or more. In the third process, a remaining amount rank corresponding to the Nth determination object value is determined. In the fourth process, a rank display corresponding to the remaining amount rank is performed.
PRINTER AND RIBBON ROLL
A ribbon roll held by a ribbon holder comprises a cylindrical member, an ink ribbon wound around the cylindrical member and a data holding section which is arranged on surface of the cylindrical member and has plural areas where identification codes indicating information relating to the ink ribbon are recorded A driver rotates the cylindrical member held by the ribbon holding section. A detector detects components of the identification code and the mark from a position facing the data holding section of the ribbon roll held by the ribbon holder. A rotation controller enables the driver to rotate the cylindrical member to an extent to which the detector can detect the identification code. A reading controller carries out reading of the identification code by taking the mark as a reference from the components detected by the detector in synchronization with the rotation by the rotation controller.

Ink ribbon, ink ribbon cassette and printer
An ink ribbon includes a core and a mounting section. The core is configured to be wound with an ink ribbon tape. The mounting section is mounted with an identification information recording part in which identification information of the ink ribbon tape is recorded to be inputtable and outputtable. The mounting section includes at least one hole section which supports at least one end portion of the core to be rotatable. The mounting section covers at least a part of the core via the ink ribbon tape wound around the core in a state where the core is rotatable.

TAPE CARTRIDGE
A tape cartridge detachably installed on a cartridge installation portion of a tape printing apparatus having a first shaft and a second shaft on the cartridge installation portion. The tape cartridge includes a tape accommodation area in which a printing tape and a tape core are accommodated. A platen has a first reception portion in which the first shaft is inserted when the tape cartridge is installed, and a second reception portion into which the second shaft is inserted when the tape cartridge is installed in the cartridge installation portion. When seen from an attaching direction of the tape cartridge, the tape cartridge has an appearance that is formed in an L-shape and of which a base end at a right side surface slightly projects. The first reception portion and the second reception portion are arranged each other from opposite side of the tape accommodation portion.
PRINTING APPARATUS
According to an embodiment, a printing apparatus mounts an ink ribbon provided with a wireless tag storing a digital certificate that is generated using an encryption algorithm on the basis of a private key and a unique identifier (ID) of the wireless tag. The printing apparatus communicates with the wireless tag, and reads the unique ID of the wireless tag and also reads the digital certificate stored in the wireless tag. Further, the printing apparatus verifies the digital certificate on the basis of a public key and the unique ID read from the wireless tag to determine whether or not the ink ribbon is a genuine product.
Tape cartridge
A tape cartridge detachably installed on a cartridge installation portion of a tape printing apparatus having a first shaft and a second shaft on the cartridge installation portion. The tape cartridge includes a printing tape wound on a tape core, two grasping portions that allow the tape cartridge to be grasped when the tape cartridge is installed to or detached from a tape printing apparatus and are disposed at two opposite places on a side surface of the tape cartridge, a platen that has a first reception portion in which the first shaft is inserted when the tape cartridge is installed and a second reception portion into which the second shaft is inserted when the tape cartridge is installed in the cartridge installation portion. The first reception portion is disposed on an opposite side of the tape core to the second reception portion.
