The movement mechanism is controlled to make a drive interval of the stepping motor at least one time step longer than a preceding drive interval before a rotation speed of the stepping motor reaches a predetermined target speed.

The returning position is located at a first position downstream from the sheet facing area in the first orientation, under a condition that the determined ink amount is less than a threshold value; and the returning position is located at a second position downstream from the first position in the first orientation, under a condition that the determined ink amount is not less than the threshold value.

Transmission link assemblies
