Tape, printer and printer system

A tape has one or more first areas and one or more second areas. One of the second areas is connected to each of the first areas, and is shorter than the first areas in a direction. A control unit controls to print on a first area of the tape and to cut a second area. In some examples, the tape is divided into two portions by pre-cut contours. A control unit controls to divide one of the portions into two parts and to print on at least one of the parts. Additionally or alternatively, a tape may include a first sheet and a second sheet. The second sheet pasted on the first sheet, is divided into a first area and a second area by a slit, and has a perforation line. A control unit controls to print on the second sheet, and to cut partially through the tape.

A printed image data generation method includes: a data acquisition step of acquiring data indicating a three-dimensional shape model imitating a printing target object and data indicating a two-dimensional image for decorating a surface of the printing target object; and a printed image data generation step of calculating a position of a surface of the three-dimensional shape model on which ink ejected from a nozzle is to land, determining a pixel of the two-dimensional image corresponding to the position of the surface, and generating data of a printed image to be printed on the printing target object based on information of the pixel.

PRINTING APPARATUS, PRINTING METHOD, AND DECORATIVE MEMBER SUPPORT

A printing apparatus includes an image formation device and a control device. The image formation device ejects an ink for image formation to a fabric to form an image on the fabric. The control device generates, based on a first image data of an original image to be formed on the fabric, a second image data of a mark-applied image which is the original image additionally including a mark at a target position of a decorative member to be attached to the fabric. Then, the control device controls the image formation device based on the second image data so as to form the mark-applied image on the fabric.

Assistance features for loading a medium into a printing apparatus

A printing device includes a printing apparatus that includes a transport unit including a roller pair that nips and transports a medium, a printing unit that prints on the medium and a first sensor that detects the medium or a mark at a position downstream of the roller pair. The printing device also includes a first motor capable of driving the roller pair to a non-nipping state and to a nipping state, and a controller that controls the transport unit and the first motor so as to perform an assistance operation to assist setting of the medium. The assistance operation performed by the controller. When the first sensor detects the medium or the mark, the controller causes the medium to be nipped by the roller pair, and a skew correction operation in which the medium is transported and reverse transported is performed.
