IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, A NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE RECORDING MEDIUM STORING CONTROL PROGRAM, AND CONTROL METHOD
20200117407 · 2020-04-16 ·

An image forming apparatus includes a main CPU 70. During an unused period in which the image forming apparatus is not used, the main CPU 70 detects, based on the output of a first operation detection sensor, the presence of a first operation, which is an operation that causes a concern that consumable items or the like may be stolen. When the main CPU 70 detects the first operation, theft alert audio which indicates that there is a concern that consumable items or the like may be stolen is output from a speaker. Also, the main CPU 70 transmits an email to a pre-registered destination which includes a theft alert message, which indicates that there is a concern that consumable items or the like may be stolen.

LIQUID DISCHARGE DEVICE

Aspects of a disclosure relates to a liquid discharge device enables previously disabled liquid discharge through a head after a cartridge including a first liquid chamber is replaced and before the liquid level in a second liquid chamber of a tank reaches a predetermined level or higher. Another aspects of the disclosure relates to a liquid discharge device that deactivates an alarm after a cartridge including a first liquid chamber is replaced and before the liquid level in a second liquid reaches a predetermined level or higher.

FAILING COMPONENT IDENTIFICATION WITH ULTRASONIC MICROPHONE

In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, a method of identifying failing components using an ultrasonic microphone is described. According to the method, an ultrasonic audio signal generated during operation of a device is received at an ultrasonic microphone disposed within the device. The received ultrasonic audio signal is compared against a baseline ultrasonic audio signal for the device to detect deviations between the received ultrasonic audio signal and the baseline ultrasonic audio signal. Based on detected deviations between the received ultrasonic audio signal and the baseline ultrasonic audio signal being greater than a threshold amount, a failing component within the device is identified.

Image recording apparatus

The image recording apparatus has a head, a tank, a case that receives a cartridge, and a controller. When the cartridge is installed in the case of the image recording apparatus, the liquid in the cartridge flows to the tank by a difference between a liquid level in the cartridge and a liquid level in the tank. The controller controls a display to display a first notification indicating an ink cartridge based on receiving a first signal output from a sensor when a liquid level in an ink chamber reached a specific position. The controller, after receiving the first signal from the sensor, counts a count value indicating an amount of discharged liquid from the head. Further, the controller, in response to the count value reaching a first threshold, controls the display to display a second notification.

Thermal transfer printer, composite consumable thereof and method for supplying such composite consumable to thermal transfer printer
10538116 · 2020-01-21 · ·

A thermal transfer printer and a composite consumable thereof and a method for supplying such composite consumable to the thermal transfer printer are disclosed. The consumable supplying device is installed with a composite consumable which is made by winding a thermal transfer ribbon and a printing media together around a common core with the ink side of the thermal transfer ribbon facing the surface of the printing media. Accordingly, just one consumable supplying device rather than two different consumable supplying devices as in existing thermal transfer printers should be arranged to provide the thermal transfer ribbon and the printing media to the thermal transfer printer at the same time. In such a way, the internal space of the thermal transfer printer can be effectively saved, which significantly reduces the volume of the thermal transfer printer.

Processing print media including marked portions and unmarked portions

Examples to process print media (105) are defined herein. At least one marked cell from a plurality of cells (305) extending throughout a processed image of the print media (105) is detected. The processed image of the print media (105) may include marked portions (110) and unmarked portions (115). Further, the marked cell overlays a marked portion of the processed image. Once the marked cell is detected, the marked portions (110) of the print media (105) corresponding to the marked portions (110) of the processed image may be determined and separated from the print media (105) to provide a processed media (130) comprising the unmarked portions (115).

Print consumable detection

A print consumable may include a rotatable core, a roll of dispensable print substrate, and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) tag. The roll of the dispensable print substrate may be dispensably secured to the core. The RFID tag may be secured to the core and configured to rotate about a core axis. The RFID tag includes an RFID antenna coupled to an RFID chip. The RFID chip may include a print counter, a stock-keeping unit (SKU) code, and a consumable authentication code. A print system may include a housing, a holder to hold the print consumable, a print head, a transceiver, a trace antenna for reading an RFID tag of the print consumable, and a controller. The controller may be configured to receive a signal from the transceiver indicative of one or more of the print counter, the SKU code, and the consumable authentication code received from the RFID antenna.
