Electric vacuum cleaning apparatus

An electric vacuum cleaning apparatus that offers a high degree of convenience is provided that is capable of easily switching between a function that empties dust from an electric vacuum cleaner by moving dust collected by the cleaner to a station and accumulating the dust at the station, and a function that accumulates dust that is swept up together after quickly performing localized cleaning using an cleaning implement other than the cleaner at the station. An electric vacuum cleaning apparatus 1 includes: a dust transfer pipe 22 that is connected to an autonomous robotic vacuum cleaner 2, and that sucks in dust collected by the cleaner 2; a suction passage 61 that sucks in other dust that is different to dust collected by the cleaner 2; a secondary dust container 28 that is connected to the pipe 22 and the suction passage 61; an electric blower 29 that applies a negative pressure to the pipe 22 and the suction passage 61; and a switching valve unit 72 that is capable of switching a channel that is connected to the dust container 28 so as to allow either one of, and block the other of, flowing between the pipe 22 and the dust container 28 and flowing between the suction passage 61 and the dust container 28.

Vacuum tools

A vacuum tool configured to be removably coupled to hose or wand of a vacuum includes a body including a first end, a second end, and a first longitudinal axis extending between the first end and the second end. The vacuum tool also includes a head coupled to the first end of the body, a connection portion coupled to the second end of the body and configured to couple the body to a hose or wand of a vacuum cleaner, and a brush coupled to the head. The brush includes an elongate support defining a second axis perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the body and configured to couple the brush to the head, and a plurality of bristles positioned on the elongate support.

Self cleaning chair assembly

A self cleaning chair assembly for suctioning up hair as it is cut from a client includes a base, in which a vacuum module is positioned, and a chair. The chair is rotatably engaged to and is selectively extensible from the base. A tube is engaged to the chair and extends along a rear edge of a seat of the chair. A plurality of openings is positioned in the tube. An intake pipe is engaged to and extends from the vacuum module. The intake pipe extends substantially circumferentially around a lower end of the base. A plurality of apertures extends through the base and into the intake pipe. A hose is engaged to and extends between the intake pipe and the tube. The vacuum module suctions hair trimmed from the client from a surface proximate to the base, through the apertures, and from the chair, through the openings.

STORAGE SYSTEMS AND METHODS

A storage system is described where goods are stored in containers (10) and the containers (10) are stored in stacks. Above the stacks runs a grid network of tracks on which load handling devices run. The containers (10) may be provided with one or more of the following services: power, power control, heating, lighting, cooling, sensing means, and data logging means. The provision of these services within individual containers rather than across the system as a whole, allows for flexibility in storage whilst reducing cost and inefficiency.

Robotic picking system device and method

A bin is described for use on a robotic picking system grid. The bin is capable of removing liquids from beneath a robotic picking system following spillages or sprinkler deployments.

Dust and allergen control for surface cleaning apparatus

An apparatus comprising one or more of a surface treatment apparatus having an air treatment member and a refuse container wherein at least one of the surface treatment apparatus and the refuse container is provided with one or more of (a) a dust control member providing a dust control agent comprising one or more of a liquid mist, positive ions and negative ions to an area below a dirt emptying outlet of a dirt collection region of the surface treatment apparatus; and, (b) a treatment applicator providing a treatment agent comprising one or more of a deodorizing agent, a disinfecting agent and a sanitizing agent to an interior volume of the air treatment member and an interior volume of the refuse container.

Storage systems and methods

A storage system is described where goods are stored in containers and the containers are stored in stacks. Above the stacks runs a grid network of tracks on which load handling devices run. The load handling devices take containers from the stacks and deposit then at alternative locations in the stacks or deposit then at stations where goods may be picked out. Each container may be provided with connectors having a push fit male connector located at a top edge of the container and a female connector at a bottom edge of the container. Adjacent containers in a stack can be linked by routing means, which form moldings on each container. The connectors can also have spring-loaded contacts. The provision of these services within individual containers rather than across the system as a whole, allows for flexibility in storage whilst reducing cost and inefficiency.
