Removable dryer module for a printing apparatus
A printing apparatus, such as a large-scale ink jet printer, includes two removable, interchangeable dryer modules, which may be operated separately or in series. Each dryer module permits a sheet or web to pass therethrough in a process direction. Each dryer module includes a lamp mount, suitable for holding one or more heating or curing lamps, the lamp mount being slidably disposed within the module for easy access to the lamps. Each dryer module defines a top portion suitable for maintaining an airflow above the lamp mount, and a bottom portion suitable for maintaining an airflow below the lamp mount. A plate having a pattern of openings therein enables an airflow through the lamps.
INKJET PRINTING METHOD AND APPARATUS
Herein is disclosed a method of transfer inkjet printing comprising jetting a radiation curable inkjet ink onto an intermediate transfer member of an inkjet printer to form an image; irradiating the radiation curable inkjet ink on the intermediate transfer member to form an at least partially cured image; and transferring the at least partially cured image to a substrate to form a printed substrate. Herein is also disclosed a transfer inkjet printing apparatus adapted, in use, to perform the method.
INKJET PRINTING METHOD AND APPARATUS
Herein is disclosed a method of transfer inkjet printing comprising applying a radiation curable primer onto an intermediate transfer member of an inkjet printer to form a radiation curable primer layer; jetting a radiation curable inkjet ink onto the radiation curable primer layer on the intermediate transfer member to form an image; irradiating the radiation curable inkjet ink and the radiation curable primer on the intermediate transfer member to form an at least partially cured image; and transferring the at least partially cured image to a substrate to form a printed substrate. Herein is also disclosed a transfer inkjet printer adapted, in use, to perform the method.
DRYER SYSTEM TO COOL PRINTER
A printer including a print bar and a dryer system. The print bar operates to deposit printing material in accordance with a print job. The dryer system operates to intake and heat air from an internal region in which one or more electrical components of the printer are located. The dryer system directs the heated air through multiple outlets that are acutely angled with respect to a location or media of deposited printing material, to dry the printing material while cooling the internal region of the printer.
Print agent drying apparatus
A method of drying print agent is disclosed. The method comprises blowing hot air onto an absorbent printable medium that bears water- and/or solvent-based print agent to reduce the viscosity of the print agent and to promote absorption of at least some water and/or solvent in the print agent by the printable medium; and, subsequent to the blowing of hot air, irradiating the printable medium with ultraviolet radiation to dry the unabsorbed portion of print agent on the printable medium. A printer ink drying apparatus and a print apparatus are also disclosed.
