Manufacturing method for printed matter exhibiting metallic gloss, printed matter exhibiting metallic gloss, and inkjet printer
A manufacturing method for a printed matter exhibiting metallic gloss includes an applying step of applying an ink composition onto a substrate in a form of a droplet by an inkjet method, and the ink composition containing an external stimulus film-forming resin that forms a film by an external stimulus including radiation or heat, and scaly particles containing a metal; a standby step of providing a predetermined standby time to bring the scaly particles close to a surface of the droplet and orient the scaly particles to be substantially parallel to the surface; and a film forming step of forming the film by applying the external stimulus to the ink composition after the standby step to form a metallic glossy layer exhibiting metallic gloss.
ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING TECHNIQUES FOR MEANDER-LINE POLARIZERS
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for producing meander-line polarizers. In some implementations, a meander-line polarizer includes a dielectric substrate made of a polyester polymer material and meander-line arrays formed on a surface of the dielectric substrate. Each meander-line array includes a sequence of alternating perpendicular conductive traces that are formed the surface of the dielectric substrate by applying conductive ink to the surface of the dielectric substrate using a template that defines a location and dimensions of each conductive trace of each meander-line array.
DYE SUBLIMATION INKJET INK SET
An example dye sublimation inkjet ink set includes a first dye sublimation inkjet ink and a second dye sublimation inkjet ink. The first dye sublimation inkjet ink includes a disperse dye colorant dispersion including a first disperse dye having absorption at a radiation wavelength ranging from about 360 nm to about 410 nm; an additive to absorb energy at the radiation wavelength ranging from about 360 nm to about 410 nm and to dissipate at least some of the absorbed energy as fluorescence; a co-solvent; and a balance of water. The additive is selected from the group consisting of a compound containing from 3 to 5 fused benzene rings and and a coumarin derivative. The second dye sublimation inkjet ink includes a disperse dye colorant dispersion including a second disperse dye having less absorption at the radiation wavelength than the first disperse dye; a co-solvent; and a balance of water.
INK SET AND IMAGE RECORDING METHOD
An ink set includes: an inkjet ink which contains a pigment, a resin dispersant, and water and in which the content of an organic solvent having a boiling point of higher than 210° C. is less than 1% by mass; and a maintenance liquid which contains water, a solvent MA, and a solvent MB, in which the solvent MA is an organic solvent formed of a hydrophilic portion such as —OH and a hydrophobic portion that is a portion other than the hydrophilic portion and having an MA value of 5.8 or less, the solvent MB is glycerin, ethylene glycol, or the like, and the content of the solvent MA is in a range of 0.5% by mass to 10% by mass with respect to a total amount of the maintenance liquid.
DIGITAL BINDER AND POWDER PRINT
A method and equipment to form a digital print by applying dry colourants on a surface of a panel, bonding a part of the colourants with a binder and removing the non-bonded colourants from the surface. The method of forming a digital print on a surface of a panel includes displacing the panel under a digital drop application head, applying a liquid binder with the digital drop application head on the surface; applying colourants on the liquid binder and the surface; bonding a part of the colourants to the surface with the liquid binder; removing non-bonded colourants from the surface such that a digital print is formed by the bonded colourants; and applying heat and pressure on the panel, the surface and the bonded colorants such that the colourants are permanently bonded to the surface.
DYE-SUBLIMATION INKJET PRINTING FOR TEXTILE
Provided herein is an inkjet dye-sublimation ink composition that is formulated to interact with an immobilizing composition such that the ink composition coagulates on the surface of an absorptive substrate, thereby substantially limiting soaking of the ink composition into the substrate. Also provided are a printing process and a printing machine, wherein the ink composition is directly printed on the substrate concomitantly with the immobilizing composition, and thereafter undergo heat-pressing to afford a dye-sublimation transfer of the dye to the substrate, thereby forming an image which is characterized by sharp and well defined edges of the dyed areas.
INKJET INK AND PRINTED ITEM
An inkjet ink that shows only a small amount of discoloration over time and is capable of printing with a stable color, not only when printed on a surface of a print object having a relatively low ink permeability, but also when printed on a surface of a print object having a relatively high ink permeability, and provide a printed item including a printed area printed using the inkjet ink. A gray ink according to the present embodiment is an edible inkjet ink which contains at least a first colorant which is a food dye and a second colorant which is a food dye, and the first colorant is at least one of Red No. 3, Red No. 40, Red No. 104, Red No. 105, and Red No. 106.
