Method for applying register marks to wrapping paper for smoking articles
The invention relates to a method for marking a wrapping paper for smoking articles, comprising the following steps: (A) providing a wrapping paper for smoking articles, and (B) producing register marks on the wrapping paper by treating the surface of the wrapping paper with laser radiation having an energy density y in J-m-2, to which the following applies: y=k.Math.x, whereby x is the enthalpy of combustion per volume of the wrapping paper in J.Math.m.sup.−2.Math.μm.sup.−1, and k is at least −8 μm and at most −1 μm.
LASER-MARKABLE CABLES AND SYSTEMS FOR MAKING THE SAME
Laser-markable cable layers for a cable are provided. The laser-markable cable layers include an inner layer formed of a first polymer material and an outer layer formed of a second polymer material and a laser-marking compound. A laser etching system for forming customized image patterns on workpieces, includes a computer that receives a product image and generates a label image, a laser head to emit a laser beam, a transport system that can scan the laser head across a workpiece or a label associated with the workpiece, a laser head driver that can modulate the laser beam in accordance to the product image or the label image that uniquely identifies the workpiece, and a power controller that can set the laser beam a first power level or a second power level. The laser head can scan across and etch the workpiece at the first power level in pixel-wise fashion to reproduce the product image on the workpiece. The laser head can scan across and etch the label at the second power level in pixel-wise fashion to reproduce the label image on the label.

The method comprises steps of: the control main board receiving coordinate and gray scale value of the target image pixel dot; calculating output power of the target image pixel dot by using the gray scale value; and controlling the laser device to use corresponding output power according to displacement of the galvanometer, and outputting laser specific to each target image pixel dot. By adjusting the output power of target image pixel dot (marking point), a separate pixel dot may reflect the change of gray scale value, so as to represent the image gray scale value. The coordinate of each pixel dot in the gray scale image may be calculated according to the predetermined resolution, such that, the coordinate of pixel dot is no longer adjusted, ensuring the DPI and the resolution of the gray scale image.

By adjusting the output power of target image pixel dot (marking point), a separate pixel dot may reflect the change of gray scale value, so as to represent the image gray scale value. The coordinate of each pixel dot in the gray scale image may be calculated according to the predetermined resolution, such that, the coordinate of pixel dot is no longer adjusted, ensuring the DPI and the resolution of the gray scale image.
