The method including the steps of a) providing an object; b) applying to at least one surface of the object, a powder composition comprising a thermosetting binder; c) applying onto the at least one surface of the resulting object in b), a fluid composition; and d) applying heat and pressure to the resulting surface from c) with a press plate in a pressing device.

Method and apparatus for producing a decorative surface

A method for producing a decorative surface having different gloss levels preferably comprising the following steps: (C) feeding of a workpiece (1.0), which is coated with at least a first lacquer layer (1.4) to a digital printing station; (D) provision of digital control data for the digital printing station; (E) digital spraying of droplets on partial areas of the first lacquer layer (1.4) on the workpiece (1.0) with an at least partially transparent lacquer in order to apply a second lacquer layer (1.5) on the first lacquer layer (1.4), wherein after curing the second lacquer layer (1.5) has a different gloss level than the first lacquer layer (1.4). Further disclosed is an apparatus for carrying out this method.

METHOD AND COMPOSITION FOR INK JET PRINTING ON A NONABSORBENT SUBSTRATE
20210197581 · 2021-07-01 ·

Ink jet printing on a non-absorbent substrate involves a wet primer having a primer viscosity. The wet primer is applied on the non-absorbent substrate. An ink jet ink having an ink jet viscosity lower than the primer viscosity is jetted over the wet primer while the primer is still wet. The wet primer and ink are simultaneously cured on the substrate.

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a conveying part configured to convey a medium in a conveying direction. A discharge head is configured to discharge a droplet onto a medium carried by the conveying part. A heating part is arranged at the downstream of the discharge head and configured to heat a medium while contacting with the medium attached with a droplet discharged by the discharge head. The heating part is arranged at a position contacting with at least part of the droplet present on the surface of the medium.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRINTING ON A TREATED SURFACE

A method for safely differentiating a three dimensional object subsequent to its creation and varnish protection by means of applying and sealing a decoration and/or data between the original and a final varnish layers. The three dimensional object may be decorated and/or contain data from its original manufacturing process but it may also be protected by a varnish prior to utilizing this process. The method enables the addition of decoration and data at any time or location subsequent to the original manufacturing process. The process takes place on top of the original varnish and may be subsequently sealed by applying another varnish layer.

RADIATIVE EMBOSSING

The present disclosure is drawn to methods of radiative embossing print media. In one example, the method of radiative embossing a print medium can include printing a radiation absorbing ink on a coated print medium to form a printed area. The coated print medium can include a print substrate and an expanding coating layer on the print substrate. The expanding coating layer can include a thermal expansion agent having a minimum expansion temperature. The method can further include heating the coated print medium using a heater such that the printed area and unprinted area reach a first temperature from 5° C. to 90° C. below the minimum expansion temperature. The coated print medium can be irradiated with radiation having a wavelength from 200 nm to 400 nm to selectively heat the print area and expand the thermal expansion agent in the printed area.
