PLASTIC CARD WITH ENHANCED LAMINATE ADHESION
Improving the adhesion of a laminate on a plastic card where the laminate overlays a print receptor layer. The size of the laminate is made larger than the print receptor layer so that at least a portion of the perimeter edge of the laminate extends beyond the perimeter edge of the print receptor layer so that the portion of the perimeter edge is adhered or otherwise bonded directly to the surface of the plastic identification document substrate or to other material of or on the plastic identification document substrate other than the print receptor layer. This increases the difficulty in picking the edges of the laminate loose and peeling the laminate from the print receptor layer and from the plastic identification document substrate.
SUBLIMATION PRINTED CLOTHING ARTICLES
An article of clothing may include a first layer made of a polyester fabric. The polyester fabric may have the following properties a thread count of at least 130 threads per square inch, a weft knit weave pattern, and a bird's eye mesh texture. The polyester fabric may include a dye sublimation printed image with a resolution that is at least 200 dots per inch. The dye sublimation printed image may be oriented to stretch laterally with a lateral stretch of the polyester. The article of clothing may also include a second layer attached to the first layer. The second layer may include a lining fabric configured to stretch laterally with the first layer.
Thermal transfer image receiving sheet
A thermal transfer image receiving sheet includes: a substrate made of paper; a polyolefin resin layer formed on a first surface of the substrate; an adhesive layer formed on a second surface of the substrate facing away from the first surface; a porous layer formed on the adhesive layer; a foundation layer formed on the porous layer; and an image receiving layer formed on the foundation layer. A surface of the substrate, as defined in JIS B 0601:2001, has a maximum valley (undulation) depth Wv of 2.00 ?m or less and a root mean square slope for the waviness W?q of 0.013 or less. The porous layer has a thickness of 25 ?m or more, and a thickness of the polyolefin resin layer is 0.2 to 3.0 times the thickness of the porous layer.
PERIMETRIC DECORATION BY SUBLIMATION
A sublimation transfer sheet including a backing layer positionable between overlapping end portions of the sublimation transfer sheet, method of using the same, and object decorated with method of using the same. Preferably, the backing layer is an absorbent layer. Also preferably, the backing layer is secured to a side of a release layer facing away from a side of the release layer having dyes or inks thereon.
Thermal transfer sheet
Provided is a thermal transfer sheet which has satisfactory printability and provides a printed matter having excellent boiling resistance. Disclosed is a thermal transfer sheet which is provided with a substrate, at least a transferable protective layer and a transferable color layer in this order on one side of the substrate, and is provided with a back face layer on the other side of the substrate, characterized in that the transferable protective layer contains a cyclic olefin-based polymer having a glass transition temperature of 100 C. or more as a main component and further contains an incompatible resin with the cyclic olefin-based polymer, and the transferable color layer contains a colorant and a phenolic resin having a softening point of 100 C. or more.
Method of laser induced marking of an article
A method and device for laser-induced marking. The method comprises providing an article having a marking surface including a non-flat area, providing a first laser transfer foil, providing a first laser unit for emitting first laser light, providing a first hard adaptor that is essentially transparent to the first laser light, the first hard adaptor having a contacting surface that essentially is a negative of at least a part of the marking surface of the article, contacting the first laser transfer foil with the marking surface of the article by the first hard adaptor such that the first laser transfer foil is arranged between the marking surface of the article and the contacting surface of the first hard adaptor, and irradiating the first laser light through the first hard adaptor onto the first laser transfer foil. The device comprises a first laser unit for emitting and scanning first laser light over a first transfer area, a first foil unit for providing a first laser transfer foil at the first transfer area, a carrier for providing an article at the first transfer area, the article having a marking surface comprising a non-flat surface area, a first hard adaptor that is transparent for the first laser light, the first hard adapter having a first contacting surface that is essentially a negative of the non-flat surface area of the marking surface, and a contacting unit for bringing the first laser transfer foil in contact with the marking surface by causing the first contacting surface to move one of the first laser transfer foil and the marking surface towards one another.
IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT WITH TACTILE FEATURE
A method for creating an identification document that includes: defining a debossed region on a surface of a card blank, the debossed region having a pre-determined pattern being indented into the card blank; and applying, as part of a lamination process, an overlay on the surface of the card blank to cover the defined debossed region such that an air gap is formed on the card blank's surface during the lamination process and is sealed and removed after the lamination process, and that a tactile pattern thus created on the surface of the overlay substantially duplicates the pre-determined pattern of the defined debossed region.
