A thermal transfer recording medium includes a heat-resistant lubricating layer on one surface of a base material, and an undercoat layer and a dye layer in that order on the other surface of the base material. The undercoat layer includes a copolymer of a polyester having a sulfonic acid group and an acrylic polymer having at least one of a glycidyl group and a carboxyl group, polyvinylpyrrolidone, and an oxazoline group-containing polymer. A binder resin of the dye layer is an acid-modified polyvinyl acetoacetal resin.

A dye receiving sheet includes a substrate and at least one dye receiving layer on one side of the substrate. The dye receiving layer includes: (a) polymers, wherein the polymers include PVC or PVC-VA copolymer or a mixture thereof, and the polymers are in an amount of 60-85 parts by weight based on the total weight of 100 parts by weight of the dye receiving layer; (b) a plasticizer, wherein the plasticizer has a melting point higher than 40 C., and the plasticizer is in an amount of 10-35 parts by weight based on the total weight of 100 parts by weight of the dye receiving layer; and (c) heat stabilizer, wherein the stabilizer is in an amount of 2-8 parts by weight based on the total weight of 100 parts by weight of the dye receiving layer.

Printable film

A printable film that contains a polymeric film substrate with a front side and a backside. The printable film contains also a light diffusion layer and an image receiving layer. The light diffusion layer is applied on the backside of the polymeric film substrate and contains inorganic particles, dispersing agents and polymeric binders. The image receiving layer is applied over the light diffusion layer on the backside of the polymeric film substrate. Also disclosed herein is the method for obtaining the printable film.

Disclosed is a thermal transfer sheet which is provided with a substrate, at least a transferable protective layer and a transferable color layer in this order on one side of the substrate, and is provided with a back face layer on the other side of the substrate, characterized in that the transferable protective layer contains a cyclic olefin-based polymer having a glass transition temperature of 100 C. or more as a main component and further contains an incompatible resin with the cyclic olefin-based polymer, and the transferable color layer contains a colorant and a phenolic resin having a softening point of 100 C. or more.
