The present disclosure relates to formulations for use with an intermediate transfer members of indirect printing systems and printing methods utilizing same. The present disclosure further relates to intermediate transfer members having a release layer surface covered with the formulations of the invention. The present disclosure also relates to printed substrates, printed articles and printed patterns produced using the formulations of the invention and to kits comprising the formulations.
THERMAL TRANSFER PRINTING
Method and system for thermal transfer printing are disclosed. The system comprises a transfer member having an imaging surface on the front side, a coating station at which a monolayer of particles made of, or coated with, a thermoplastic polymer is applied to the imaging surface, an imaging station at which electromagnetic radiation (EM) is applied via the rear side of the transfer member to selected regions of the particles-coated imaging surface to render the particles thereon tacky within the selected regions, and a transfer station at which only the regions of the particles coating that have been rendered tacky are transferred to a substrate. The transfer member includes on its rear side a body transparent to EM radiation and on its front side an EM radiation absorbing layer, the imaging surface being formed on, or as part of, the absorbing layer.
METHOD FOR FORMING PRINT, THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET, AND COMBINATION OF THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET AND INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEDIUM
An intermediate transfer medium having a first transfer layer releasably provided on a support, a thermal transfer sheet in which a first colorant layer, a second transfer layer, and a second colorant layer are provided on one surface of a substrate so as being frame sequentially, and the second transfer layer is releasably provided from the substrate, and a transfer receiving article. The first colorant layer is used to form a first image on the first transfer layer of the intermediate transfer medium. The second transfer layer is transferred onto the first transfer layer on which the first image is formed, and then, the second colorant layer is used to form a second image on the second transfer layer. The first transfer layer is transferred together with the second transfer layer transferred on the first transfer layer onto the transfer receiving article to obtain a print having a stereoscopic image.
THERMAL TRANSFER SHEET, INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEDIUM, AND PRINTED OBJECT MANUFACTURING METHOD
A thermal transfer sheet according to the present disclosure includes a first substrate and a transfer layer including at least a peeling layer, the peeling layer containing a resin material and antimicrobial particles, the antimicrobial particles having an average particle size in the range of 1 to 8 μm, and the peeling layer having a content of the antimicrobial particles in the range of 2.8 to 8 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the resin material.
Methods for preparing compositions comprising carbon black
Methods for producing, from hydrophilic carbon black particles and at least one curable hydrophobic silicone pre-polymer, elastomeric compositions comprising dispersed carbon black particles, as well as their corresponding cured products. Once the curing process has taken place, such compositions can be used for the preparation of numerous articles of wide industrial applicability.
TRANSFER DEVICE FOR MAKING UP KERATIN MATERIALS
A process for making up an area of human keratin materials using a makeup device comprising a deformable substrate bearing a transfer surface intended to come into contact with the keratin materials and configured to receive a coat of cosmetic ink. The process includes the following steps: a. depositing at least one cosmetic ink onto the transfer surface by means of at least one digital printer, b. placing the transfer surface in contact with the area to be made up by mechanical action, especially by exerting a pressure on a surface opposite the transfer surface, and c. moving the transfer surface away from the area of the human keratin materials after the ink has been transferred.
