FABRIC PRINT MEDIUM
A fabric printable medium comprising a fabric base substrate, with an image-side and a back-side, having a water proofing treatment including a water-repellant agent applied thereto; an adhesion promoting layer, applied to the image-side of the fabric base substrate, comprising a polymeric compound and a physical networking component; an ink-receiving coating layer over the adhesion promoting layer, comprising a first and a second crosslinked polymeric network; and a barrier layer applied to the back-side of the fabric base substrate, comprising polymeric binders and filler particles with flame retardancy properties. Also disclosed are the method for making such fabric print medium and the method for producing printed images using said material.
LOW VISCOSITY PRINT COATING SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Systems for applying low viscosity print coating to a web product using a coating roller and an off-press system are provided herein. An example system includes an unwinding station and a winding station. A motor causes the web product to travel along a web path. A coating roller applies a low viscosity print coating to a first side of the web product at a first position along the web path. The low viscosity print coating comprises a salt solution with a centipoise that is less than or equal to 100 centipoise that is configured to enhance printability. A backing roller applies a backing coating to a second, opposite side of the web product at a second, different position along the web path. The backing coating enhances sheet stability of the web product. A drying station dries the low viscosity print coating and the backing coating to remove moisture.
Calcium carbonate for rotogravure printing medium
The present invention relates to the field of rotogravure printing, and more specifically to a rotogravure printing medium, a coating composition for rotogravure printing media, a method for producing such a rotogravure printing medium and an use of the rotogravure printing medium in a printing application, preferably in rotogravure printing using electrostatic assist (ESA).
Hybrid media sheets
The present disclosure is drawn to hybrid media sheets, ink-receiving layer compositions for coating on a media substrate, and a method of making hybrid media sheets. The hybrid media sheet scan have a media substrate with a front barrier layer, a back barrier layer, an adhesion promoting layer applied to the front barrier layer, and an ink-receiving layer applied to the adhesion promoting layer. The ink-receiving layer can include a water-soluble polymer, a mordant, and particles of a metal- or semimetal-oxide.
FABRIC PRINT MEDIA
The present disclosure is drawn to a fabric print medium. The fabric print medium can include a treated fabric base substrate, an adhesion promoting layer, and an image-receiving layer. The treated fabric base substrate can include a fabric base substrate having a water proofing treatment including a water-repellant agent applied thereto. The adhesion promoting layer can be applied to the treated fabric base substrate. The adhesion promoting layer can include a first polymeric binder and a physical networking component. The image-receiving layer can be applied to the adhesion promoting layer. The image-receiving layer can include a second polymeric binder and a particulate filler.
FILM FOR SHEET FED PRINTING, SHEETS FORMED FROM SUCH FILM AND LABELS FORMED FROM SUCH SHEETS
A plurality of plastic sheets to be fed into a high speed printer for forming printed labels and similar articles and a stack of printed labels formed form the sheets. Each of the sheets or labels includes a core layer and opposed, upper and lower outer skin layers. The upper outer skin layer includes a polyolefin polymer as the predominant component, by weight, thereof and is capable of receiving printed indicia thereon. The core layer includes a polyolefin polymer as the predominant component, by weight, of the core layer; preferably a high crystallinity polypropylene homopolymer. The lower outer skin layer includes a polyolefin polymer as the predominant component by weight therein; the improvement wherein the lower outer skin layer includes a blend of organic and inorganic antiblocking agents or a blend of inorganic antiblocking agents; the blend including less than 10%, by weight, of the lower outer skin layer.
White plastic sheet with low metamerism
A metamerism-resistant printable plastic sheet, especially white sheet, in which the desired shade of white can be easily specified or adjusted. This is achieved by separately controlling the opacity and the brightness. The opacity is controlled by the concentration of white pigment in a plastic base layer and the brightness is controlled by the concentration of an optical brightener in a plastic print layer bonded to, and preferably coextruded with, the base layer. Such a sheet can be bonded to one or both sides of a rigid core to create a graphics board, or used as a stand-alone flexible print sheet. Preferably, the plastic print layer comprises a polymer resin that is inherently resistant to a yellowing reaction from exposure to UV light.
Offset printing utilizing image movement
A substrate is printed with front side and back side markings in a first color ink. The front side when viewed with reflected light includes a first marking printed in a first saturation and a first symbol printed in the first saturation. The back side when viewed with reflected light includes: a second marking printed in a second saturation; a second symbol printed in the second saturation; a third marking printed in the first saturation; and a third symbol printed in the first saturation. The first marking, the second marking, and the third marking are printed to provide an interlocking pattern of low saturation color and high saturation color when viewed with transmitted light. The second symbol is visible, and the first symbol and the second symbol are not distinguishably visible, when viewed with transmitted light.
