09702101 · 2017-07-11 ·

A vacuum hose handling and safety vacuum release system, a tubular column attachable to an industrial vacuum hose end having a long handle and a short T-handle positioned at right angles to each other that will allow a user to strategically place the metallic vacuum tube conveniently and easily to vacuum debris in a safe manner. The tube has at least one bypass orifice that the user can open to reduce or eliminate the suction at the nozzle via a lever pivotally located adjacent the T-handle.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR BACKLUSHING A VACUUM FILTER
20170151524 · 2017-06-01 ·

A vacuum filter backflushing system having an air recapturing adapter coupled to a vacuum motor's air exhaust port which recaptures a portion of exhaust air and introduces the air into a recaptured air passage. The recaptured air passage is coupled to an air flow director which is configured to direct air to an air filter. The air flow director is configured to selectively prevent air from flowing through the filters in a normal air flow direction and allow the air in the recaptured air passage to backflush the filter by dislodging particles from air filter media. The recaptured air passage can terminate after a last air filter, such that the recaptured air passage is pressurized, or the recaptured air passage can recouple back into the air exhaust port or the air recapturing adapter, such that the air is in constant motion in the recaptured air passage.

Vacuum cleaner suction nozzle with height adjustment and bleed valve

A vacuum cleaner nozzle assembly having an inlet opening, a height adjustment mechanism configured to adjust a vertical position of the inlet opening relative to a surface to be cleaned, a suction passage fluidly connected to the inlet opening, a bypass opening fluidly connected to the suction passage, and a bleed valve. The bleed valve has a closed position in which the bleed valve blocks the bypass opening, and an open position in which the bleed valve does not block the bypass opening to allow a flow of air through the bypass opening and into the suction passage. The bleed valve is configured to move from the closed position to the open position in response to an adjustment of the height adjustment mechanism.

APPARATUS FOR CLEANING A FLOOR SURFACE
20170127892 · 2017-05-11 ·

An apparatus for cleaning a floor surface including an upright part having a user graspable handle and a base assembly including a first base part connected to the upright part and a second base part connected to the first base part. The second base part includes a cleaning member. The apparatus further includes a device for effecting movement of the first and second base parts relative to each other. The device effects movement of the second base part between respective first and second conditions and the second base part has a first passage with a respective inlet and a second passage with a respective inlet. When the second base part is in its second condition the inlet of the second passage is positioned closer to a floor surface than it is positioned when the second base part is in its first condition.

An apparatus for cleaning a floor surface including an upright part having a user graspable handle; a base assembly is connected to the upright part and includes a base part having a first passage with a respective inlet; and a second passage with a respective inlet. The apparatus includes a device for effecting movement of the base part between respective first and second conditions, and a suction source for providing suction to one or both of the first and second passages. As the base part is moved between its first and second conditions by the device, the suction provided to one or both of the first and second passages is changed.

A floor tool for an apparatus having a source of suction for cleaning a floor surface, the floor tool includes a base assembly including a base part having a first passage with a respective inlet, and a second passage with a respective inlet. A device for effecting movement of the base part is between respective first and second conditions, and the first and second inlets are positioned in respective planes.

VACUUM CLEANER SUCTION NOZZLE WITH HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT AND BLEED VALVE
20170119223 · 2017-05-04 ·

A vacuum cleaner nozzle having a housing, a bleed valve, and a support. The housing has an inlet, an outlet, a suction passage, a bypass opening, and a bypass passage connecting the bypass opening to the outlet. The valve is movable between a closed position in which the valve blocks the bypass passage, and an open position in which the valve does not block the bypass passage. The support has a lever arm. The support moves between a first position in which the lever arm allows the bleed valve assembly to remain in the closed position and the support holds the inlet opening at a first distance from a surface, and a second position in which the lever arm holds the valve in the open position, and the support holds the inlet opening a second distance from the surface, the second distance being greater than the first distance.

Vacuum cleaning device, comprising a unit with a movable surface for generating an oscillating airflow

A vacuum cleaning device comprises a unit (1) for aerodynamically affecting dust particles and/or a surface (40) to be cleaned in order for the particles to become dislodged from the surface (40) and to be received by the unit (1). The unit (1) comprises a housing (10) having an internal space (11) enclosed by a housing wall (12) in which at least one opening (13) is arranged, a movable surface (30) which is integrated in the housing wall (12), and means (31) for actuating the movable surface (30), which are adapted to realize an oscillating movement of the surface (30) that causes air to alternately be drawn into the housing (10) through the opening (13) and expelled from the housing (10) through the opening (13). At least a portion of the housing wall (12), particularly a portion of the housing wall (12) in which the opening (13) is located, is movably arranged in the unit (1).

Cleaning device and method for controlling same

Provided is a cleaning device including a suction port; at least one sensor configured to sense at least one object; a driver configured to open or close the suction port; a memory storing at least one instruction; and a processor configured to execute the at least one instruction stored in the memory. The processor executes the at least one instruction to sense at least one object within an area to be cleaned by the cleaning device by controlling the at least one sensor, identify a relative location of the sensed at least one object with respect to the cleaning device, determine at least a partial area within an entire area of the suction port as an open/close target area, based on the identified relative location of the at least one object, and open or close the open/close target area by controlling the driver.

Conversion valve for a vacuum cleaner

A vacuum cleaner includes a suction source, an air inlet, and an airflow path extending from the air inlet to the suction source. A valve is movable between an open position in which the suction source and the air inlet are in fluid communication and a closed position in which the valve inhibits fluid communication between the air inlet and the suction source. The vacuum cleaner also includes a link coupled to the valve such that movement of the link in a first direction when the valve is in the closed position opens the valve, and movement of the link in a second direction when the valve is in the open position closes the valve. The link has a deformable portion resiliently deformable to permit additional movement of the link in the second direction when the valve is in the closed position.
