SHEET POST-PROCESSING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING DEVICE PROVIDED WITH THE SHEET POST-PROCESSING DEVICE
A sheet post-processing device includes a conveying section that conveys a paper sheet; a punch section that punches punch holes in the paper sheet conveyed by the conveying section; a stacker section that stores the paper sheet in which the punch holes are punched by the punch section; a binding section that binds a paper sheet bundle stored in the stacker section with a binding member; and a controller that controls the above sections. The controller selectively performs a ring binding mode and a direct binding mode. The ring binding mode is a mode in which punch holes are punched in the paper sheet by the punch section and then the binding member is made to penetrate the punch holes for binding. The direct binding mode is a mode in which the binding member is directly driven into the paper sheet bundle without punching the punch holes in the sheet.
Sheet processing apparatus and image forming system having the same
To provide a sheet storing apparatus or a sheet processing apparatus which is downsized and slimmed with a structure that a manual setting portion is arranged at an external casing of the sheet storing apparatus or the sheet processing apparatus. An apparatus includes a setting portion for a binding process to be performed on a sheet bundle inserted from the outside, a binding unit which performs the binding process on the sheet bundle inserted to the setting portion, a sheet conveying path which conveys a sheet, and a processing unit which performs a predetermined process on a sheet as being arranged at the sheet conveying path and being moved in a direction intersecting with a conveying direction of the sheet conveyed on the sheet conveying path, and a movement area of the processing unit in the intersecting direction and the setting portion are overlapped in the intersecting direction.

Method and apparatus for making spiral-bound books
The invention relates to the production of books with wire or spiral bindings or other comparable bindings, wherein sub-layers (2) made of punched sheets are collected one over the other in a successive manner into a book (5) at a collecting station (3), and the book is subsequently bound. According to the invention, a sub-layer (2) is held in a clamped manner by at least one lateral clamping device (12) which moves together with the sub-layer while the sub-layer is transported into the collecting position, while the sub-layers (10) already collected at the collecting station (3) are held in a fixed manner by means of at least one needle (13) which is moved upwards through the punched holes (4) from below. The clamping of the pliers is released only when the needles (13) are also located in the punched holes (4) of the newly conveyed sub-layers (2) as a result of the needles being moved upwards.
Binding machine
A punching and binding machine used to bind sheets to discs. The machine may include a lever with a first arm, a second arm, and a third arm. Each arm may be pivotally and slidably connected to minimize the force required by a user to punch cutouts in a stack of sheets. The lever may include a flipper connected to a binding member to actuate punching and binding simultaneously.

Punching and binding machine
A punching and binding machine comprises a base; a bracket fixed to the base; a drive mechanism connected to the bracket; a punching mechanism, including a limit plate, a punching cutter, and an adjusting pin, the limit plate being slidably connected to the drive mechanism, the adjusting pin being connected to the top of the punching cutter, the limit plate being provided with a limiting groove that allows the adjusting pin to be slidably inserted, the drive mechanism driving the limit plate to move, the adjusting pin moving between a abutting state and a sliding state, and in the abutting state, the adjusting pin contacts the limiting point of the limit groove, with the limit plate driving the punching cutter to move synchronously; a binding mechanism, slidably connected to the bracket, driven by the drive mechanism to move between a compression position and a release position.
