Image forming system

To enable a bunch of sheets to be reliably discharged to a stack tray, also in the case where weight of the bunch of sheets formed on a processing tray is large, upon receiving a printing command, a main body control section checks information on an ink discharge amount in printing on a sheet, the number of sheets, sheet type and printing mode (two-side/one-side). By this means, the section recognizes weight of the bunch of sheets formed on the processing tray, and when determining that the weight is heavier than predetermined weight, deceases an upper limit value of the number of sheets of a bunch of sheets formed at a time to report to a user.

A system may include a finishing device to receive a print job. The print job may move about a first axis of the finishing device. The system may further include a stapling device contained within the finishing device. The stapling device to move about a second axis of the finishing device, and the second axis may be perpendicular to the first axis. A sensor may be located on the stapling device to identify a first edge of the print job. The first edge of the print job may be a leading edge of the print job as the print job moves about the first axis.

A sheet binding apparatus includes a sheet conveyer, a tape holder, and first and second rollers. The sheet conveyer is configured to convey a sheet bundle with a leading end shifted, the sheet bundle having opposing first and second surfaces. The tape holder is configured to hold a tape at a position to which the leading end reaches such that the tape adheres to the leading end. The leading end with the tape passes and is pressed between the first and second rollers. The second roller is positioned upstream in the sheet forward direction from the first roller and to face the second surface of the sheet bundle. An angle between a line perpendicular to the sheet forward direction and a line passing rotational axes of the first and second rollers is greater than 0 and less than 90.
