Printing apparatus connected to a saddle finisher with image forming controlled based on a transparency of a cover sheet
10044902 · 2018-08-07 · ·

A printing apparatus in which a controller controls an image forming unit. When a cover sheet is a first type of sheet, a normal image is formed on the cover sheet after forming the image on a body sheet and the cover sheet is conveyed to a saddle finisher without reversing the cover sheet. When the cover sheet has a higher transparency than the first type of sheet and is able to be reversed, a mirror image is formed on the cover sheet after forming the image on the body sheet. When the cover sheet is a third type of sheet having a higher transparency than the first type of sheet and is not able to be reversed by the reversing mechanism, a normal image is formed on the cover sheet after forming the image on the body sheet and the cover sheet on which the normal image has been formed is conveyed to the saddle finisher without reversing the cover sheet.

SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS THAT APPLIES AN ADHESIVE FOR BINDING SHEETS

A sheet processing apparatus includes a sheet tray on which one or more sheets to be processed are placed, an adhesive applying unit, and a pressing member. The adhesive applying unit has an end portion that faces the sheet tray and holds an adhesive material and is configured to move towards the sheet tray up to a position at which the end portion is in contact with or proximate to a sheet on the sheet tray and apart from the sheet tray. The pressing member is configured to move into and out of a moving path of the adhesive applying unit. The pressing member is pressed against a sheet on the sheet tray by the adhesive applying unit, when the pressing member is in the moving path of the adhesive applying unit and the adhesive applying unit moves towards the sheet tray.

RECORDING SYSTEM

A recording system includes a printer, a post-processing apparatus, and a first support to be mounted on a floor outside a mounting area of the printer. The printer includes a manual feed tray and an opening/closing portion each configured to be moved outward from a body of the printer to enable a process. The post-processing apparatus is located, in a Z direction, above the manual feed tray and the opening/closing portion that were moved. The first support supports the post-processing apparatus and forms a space in which the manual feed tray and the opening/closing portion are moved.

Sheet processing device and image forming device provided with the sheet processing device

A sheet processing device performs saddle stitching binding a bundle of stacked paper sheets, and includes a stacker section temporarily stacking conveyed paper sheets substantially vertically; a stopper regulating the paper sheets stacked in the stacker section; a first binding section provided in the stacker and saddle-stitching a paper sheet bundle regulated by the stopper at a binding position around a center of the paper sheet bundle in a sheet conveying direction; a folding section folding in half the paper sheet bundle regulated by the stopper; and a conveying section conveying the paper sheet bundle that has been folded in half by the folding section with a back side of the folded paper sheet bundle as a leading end in the conveying direction. The conveying section includes a second binding section binding the folded paper sheet bundle at the back side thereof.

A sheet punching apparatus includes a waste box formed of insulating resin, a detection sensor provided in the waste box and configured to detect the amount of paper chips in the waste box, and a conductive member disposed such that at least a part thereof is positioned in midair in the waste box below the detection sensor. With this configuration, erroneous detection of the detection sensor can be prevented.

BOOK BLOCK FORMING APPARATUS

A first press unit 2 presses each of a plurality of signatures S along a fold f, the signatures being supplied one at a time with the fold facing forward. The unit is arranged a signature conveyance unit 3 that conveys each signature received from, the first press unit while controlling the attitude to make the fold orthogonal to the conveyance direction. The unit is arranged a gluing unit 4 that applies glue to both lateral edges of a top surface of each signature received from the signature conveyance unit. The unit is arranged an accumulation unit 5 that sequentially stacks the signatures received from the gluing unit on one another while jogging the stacked signatures to form a book block B. The unit is arranged a second press unit 6 that discharges the book block received from the accumulation unit after pressing the same along the folds.

BOOK BINDING APPARATUS

A book binding apparatus includes: a first processing section which is configured to perform a first process on a medium; a second processing section which is configured to perform a second process on the medium on which the first processing section has performed the first process; a first discharging section to which the medium on which the first processing section has performed the first process is discharged; and a second discharging section to which the medium on which the first processing section has performed the first process, and on which the second processing section has performed the second process is discharged.
