A sheet bonding apparatus includes a first nipping member having a first surface and for nipping a sheet bundle on which a toner image for bonding sheets together is formed, a heating portion configured to heat the first surface of the first nipping member, and a second nipping member having a second surface opposing the first surface and configured to bond the sheet bundle in an adhesive region by heating and pressing the toner image while nipping the sheet bundle by the first surface and the second surface. At least one of the first surface and the second surface includes a plurality of uneven portions for forming an uneven shape on the sheet bundle in the adhesive region.

A sheet bonding apparatus includes a first nipping member having a first surface and for nipping a sheet bundle on which a toner image for bonding sheets together is formed, a heating portion configured to heat the first surface of the first nipping member, and a second nipping member having a second surface opposing the first surface and configured to bond the sheet bundle in an adhesive region by heating and pressing the toner image while nipping the sheet bundle by the first surface and the second surface. At least one of the first surface and the second surface includes a plurality of uneven portions for forming an uneven shape on the sheet bundle in the adhesive region.

A medium processing apparatus includes a conveying unit, a liquid applier, and a crimper. The conveying unit conveys a medium in a conveyance direction. The liquid applier applies liquid to the medium conveyed by the conveying unit. The liquid applier includes a presser and a liquid application member. The presser presses the medium. The liquid application member contacts and is separated from the medium while the presser presses the medium. The crimper presses and deforms a plurality of media including the medium to which the liquid is applied by the liquid applier, to crimp and bind the plurality of media.

Provided is a sheet thermocompression apparatus for bonding a plurality of sheets to one another, the sheet thermocompression apparatus including: a loading portion in which sheets having adhesion toner formed thereon are loaded in a loading direction; and a thermocompression unit including a pressing member elongated in a longitudinal direction, for pressing the sheets loaded in the loading portion in the loading direction, and a heating source for heating the pressing member. In a case where the pressing member is viewed from the loading direction, the pressing member overlaps a region of a sheet loaded in the loading portion from one end portion to the other end portion in the longitudinal direction. The heating source is capable of heating an end portion and a center portion of the pressing member in the longitudinal direction to different temperatures.

Provided is a sheet thermocompression apparatus for bonding a plurality of sheets to one another, the sheet thermocompression apparatus including: a loading portion in which sheets having adhesion toner formed thereon are loaded in a loading direction; and a thermocompression unit including a pressing member elongated in a longitudinal direction, for pressing the sheets loaded in the loading portion in the loading direction, and a heating source for heating the pressing member. A booklet making apparatus includes a heat-and-pressure bonding portion including a pressurizing member, a receiving member, a moving portion configured to move the pressurizing member, and a heating portion configured to heat the pressurizing member. The booklet making apparatus is configured to nip, heat, and pressurize, between the pressurizing member and the receiving member, a plurality of sheets on at least one of which an adhesive layer is formed, and thus make a booklet. The booklet making apparatus further includes an elastic member. A deformation amount of the elastic member is constant while the moving portion moves from a first position to a second position. In a case where the moving portion moves from the second position to a third position, the deformation amount of the elastic member increases in accordance with a movement amount the moving portion.

A booklet making apparatus includes a heat-and-pressure bonding portion including a pressurizing member, a receiving member, a moving portion configured to move the pressurizing member, and a heating portion configured to heat the pressurizing member. The booklet making apparatus is configured to nip, heat, and pressurize, between the pressurizing member and the receiving member, a plurality of sheets on at least one of which an adhesive layer is formed, and thus make a booklet. The booklet making apparatus further includes an elastic member. A deformation amount of the elastic member is constant while the moving portion moves from a first position to a second position. In a case where the moving portion moves from the second position to a third position, the deformation amount of the elastic member increases in accordance with a movement amount the moving portion.
