A driving system (235-240) drives the endless conveyors (225a-225c) to cause each conveying element (305a1,305a2;305b;305c) in succession to engage a transport element (210a-210d), to convey the transport element (210a-0210d) along a transport path (220) for an active section of the corresponding endless conveyor (225a-225c) and then to disengage the transport element (210a-210d). A bookbinding plant comprising one or more of these bookbinding machines (100) is also proposed. Moreover, a corresponding method for operating a bookbinding machine (100), a computer program and a computer program product for implementing the method are proposed.

Bookbinding machine with stop of transport elements at a processing station while transport elements are disengaged at other processing stations
A bookbinding machine (100) is proposed. The bookbinding machine (100) comprises a driving system (225) for driving transport elements (210a-210c) of book blocks (215a-215c) in succession across at least one engagement processing station 5 (205d) and one or more disengagement processing stations (205a,205e) which process the book blocks while stationary therein. Control means (120) stop the driving system (225) when each of the transport elements (210b) is at the engagement processing station (205d) engaged with the driving system (225) and other transport elements (210a,210c) are at the disengagement processing stations (205a,205e) disengaged from the driving system (225). Process and apparatus for the production of multipage information leaflets and the information leaflet obtained in this way
A process for the production of multipage information leaflets or slips, the information leaflet provided with a booklet structure including two or more pages, the process including in sequence the steps of: loading and feeding of a ream of sheets printed on one or both sides, taking of a single sheet from the ream and gluing along an edge portion of the single sheet, multiple folding of the single sheet on itself along the glued portion to define a folded sheet, cutting of the folded sheet to define the multipage information leaflet with the pages connected one to the other only at a joining area in proximity of an edge, pressing of the information leaflet at the joining area, accumulation and collection of the finished information leaflets and optional rejecting of the leaflets which do not comply with the production specifications.
ADHESIVE BINDER
The invention relates to an adhesive binder with a machine frame, a plurality of processing stations that are attached to the machine frame, at least two transport clamps for transporting book blocks, at least one closed guide track for the transport clamps, and at least one device for changing the overhang of the book blocks. To realize a technology-required change in the overhang in an easy and secure manner, the at least one device for changing the overhang of the book blocks is arranged in such a way as to operate jointly with a lower edge of at least one of the transport clamps, so that the lower edge can be positioned in several first planes of the adhesive binder, which extend parallel to the at least one closed guide track.

Book binding apparatus
A book binding apparatus is provided with a conveyor belt 5 having a book block conveyance surface 13 extending obliquely downward toward a pair of clamp plates 3 and 4 of a clamper 2 at a book block supply position A. A guide plate 21 is attached to the clamp plate 4 on the conveyor belt side and can swing between a standing position and a tilted position. When the pair of clamp plates is placed in a closed position, the guide plate is held in the standing position. When the pair of clamp plates is placed in an open position at the book block supply position, the guide plate swings from the standing position to the tilted position and connects to the book block conveyance surface.
