Three-dimensional effect on edge of multi-page document
Methods and systems are provided for a three-dimensional effect on the edge of a multi-page document (e.g., a book). In one embodiment, a first set of image slices associated with a left-eye image is printed on a first side of long pages of a multi-page document. The first set of image slices printed adjacent to edges of the long pages. A second set of image slices associated with a right-eye image is printed on a second side of the long pages of the multi-page document. The second set of image slices printed adjacent to the edges of the long pages. Thereafter, the multi-page document is created by interleaving the long pages with short pages to enable visibility of the first set of image slices and the second set of image slices printed adjacent to the edges of the long pages.

A browsing control system includes a booklet that is acquired by binding a number of sheets, a specification unit that specifies a page number of a page opened in the booklet, and a controller that controls page turning of an electronic document depending on a difference between a page number specified by the specification unit before the page of the booklet is turned and a page number specified by the specification unit after the page thereof is turned.

Book for augmented reality applications
A book for use with augmented reality applications includes a plurality of stiff leaves, each side of which forms a page of the book. On each page a respective fiduciary marker is positioned substantially in the middle of the page. Each fiduciary marker comprises a different respective asymmetric pattern capable of indicating the scale and orientation of the book to an augmented reality application and of indicating the respective page, and a non-alphanumeric pattern positioned closer to an outside edge of the page of the book than the fiduciary marker. The non-alphanumeric pattern on a respective page is capable of indicating at least the opposing page pair comprising the respective page on which the non-alphanumeric pattern is positioned, when used in conjunction with the scale and orientation of the book as indicated by a fiduciary marker on a different page to that of the respective non-alphanumeric pattern.
Reversible Book with Decodable Text
A reversible book is disclosed, the book comprising a plurality of pages, having a first configuration and a second configuration, where in the first configuration the plurality of pages includes a first text portion, and in the second configuration the plurality of pages includes a second text portion and an illustrated portion. The book further includes a binding fixing the plurality of pages in a predetermined order, where in the predetermined order the first text portion is readable when the book is in a first orientation, and the second text portion and illustrated portion are readable when the book is in a second orientation. In the example embodiment, the first text portion and the second text portion include decodable text.
AUGMENTED BOOK
It is proposed a device (1) configured for receiving a book (2), said book comprising a book-identifier and a page; wherein said device comprises: a user input detection device; a book-identifier detection device configured to detect the book-identifier of the book; an output device; a controller connected to the user input detection device, the book-identifier detection device and the output device; and a first fastening means to removably fasten the device to the book; wherein the controller is configured to determine the user input based on the signal from the user input detection device; and wherein the controller is configured to determine which book is fastened to the device based on the signal from the book-identifier detection device. It is also proposed a book configured to be fastened to the device according to the invention and an interactive book system comprising a device and a book according to the invention.
