Scorecard holder, and method of making and using same

A scorecard holder can include an outer jacket foldable about a seam, binding, or hinge. The outer jacket can be movable between a closed position and an open position. In the open position the holder can at least expose at least a portion of the scorecard. The outer jacket can include an interior surface and an opposing exterior surface. At least a portion of the interior surface can be configured to contact the scorecard placed within the outer jacket. When in the open position an outer periphery of the outer jacket can be at least slightly larger than the outer periphery of the scorecard configured to be held within the outer jacket. The scorecard holder can include a flexible shield attached to either i) a top edge of the outer jacket or ii) the seam, binding, or hinge.

The method includes the steps of: providing a cover (20) having front and back panels (22 and 24) which are joined by a spine panel (26); providing a book block (10) having front and back fly sheets (14 and 16); applying a first adhesive member (40) on a first part of the spine panel (26); applying a second adhesive member (42) on a second part of the spine panel (26); contacting the front fly sheet (14) with the front panel (22) in such a way that a margin of the front fly sheet (14) overlaps the first adhesive member (40); contacting the back fly sheet (16) with the back panel (24) in such a way that a margin of the back fly sheet (16) overlaps the second adhesive member (42); and pressing on the first and second parts of the spine panel (26) to bond the margin of the front fly sheet (22) to the front panel (22) and the margin of the back fly sheet (16) to the back panel (24), respectively.

The magnetic strip allows for the section to be removed from its original book and collected into a unique organization of several sections, all of which may come from different books and may be securely kept inside a single pair of book covers that has a magnetic spine.
