ACTIVE CARD COOLING IN A CARD PROCESSING MACHINE

Methods and systems of actively cooling a card while the card is within a card processing machine are described. One or more cooling stations are provided within the card processing machine to actively cool the card prior to performing a processing operation, during a processing operation, and/or after a processing operation on the card in order to reduce a temperature of the surface of the card.

Phosphorescent writing sheet and system for creation of glowing traces and methods thereof
11222550 · 2022-01-11 ·

A phosphorescent writing sheet and system along with methods of production and use are provided. The writing/drawing system includes a writing sheet and a light source. The writing sheet includes a generally transparent substrate sheet or film, phosphorescent paint, and a generally transparent covering sheet or film. To create the writing sheet, a thin layer of the phosphorescent paint is deposited onto the inner surface of the substrate. When the paint is dry, the covering sheet is positioned above the paint layer. The layers are then laminated to adhere the substrate layer to the covering layer with the paint enclosed between them to form the transparent or translucent writing sheet. To use, the light source is run along either the front or back outer surface to create a track, which triggers the phosphorescent paint to luminesce to create glowing traces along the track of the light source.

The present disclosure provides a merchandising ornament. The merchandising ornament includes a stone at least semitransparent, a near-field communication (NFC) chip, an upper decal, and a lower covering. NFC chip is coupled to the stone and configured to store touchpoint information to transfer to a receiving device. The stone includes a generally planar base. The upper decal has a top face and a bottom face with the top face bearing a design and being adhered to at least a portion of the planar base of the stone. The design on the front face is visible through the stone. The lower covering has a top face and a bottom face with the top face of the lower covering being adhered to the bottom face of the upper decal such that the near-field communication chip is secured and concealed between the upper decal and the lower covering.

A security paper, having a first paper ply and a second paper ply, and a plastic ply made of a thermoplastic polymer material arranged between the paper layers (1, 2), wherein a strip-shaped tear-off film is embedded between the paper layers on the inner side of the second paper layer and at least partially embedded into the plastic layer. Hidden information is arranged on the inner side of the first paper ply and is covered by the strip-shaped tear-off film or is arranged on the surface of the strip-shaped tear-off film facing the first paper ply. The hidden information can be exposed by the strip-shaped tear-off film together with a strip of the second paper ply being irreversibly torn off the multi-layer substrate.

Method for producing pigment fragments with a predefined internal and/or external contour using a crack-forming layer, and pigment fragments

A method for producing pigments comprises the steps of creating a first layer on a substrate, structuring the first layer and detaching the pigments from the substrate. In the present case, the first layer is a crack-forming layer, so that the first layer is structured by the arising of cracks. Prior to detaching the pigments, a pigment layer is applied onto the first layer structured by the cracks.

ORIENTING MAGNETIC FLAKES WITHIN A BINDER LAYER
20220388328 · 2022-12-08 ·

A deposition device may deposit, on a substrate, a binder layer that includes a first set of magnetic flakes and a second set of magnetic flakes and may cause, when a temperature of the binder layer satisfies a temperature threshold (e.g., a Curie temperature of the first set of magnetic flakes), a magnetic field to be applied to the binder layer to cause the first set of magnetic flakes and the second set of magnetic flakes to be oriented according to the magnetic field. The deposition device may cause, when the temperature of the binder layer ceases to satisfy the temperature threshold, another magnetic field to be applied to the binder layer to cause only the second set of magnetic flakes to be oriented according to the other magnetic field.
