A writing utensil safety sheath comprising a body having a first open end and an internal channel. The internal channel is sized to retain at least a portion of a writing utensil in either a first extended position or a retracted position. The writing utensil safety sheath also has a grip affixed to and extending beyond the first open end of the body. The grip contacts a writing end of the writing utensil when the writing utensil is in the first extended position thus retaining the writing utensil in the first extended position while writing. When a force applied to the writing end exceeds a predetermined amount, the writing utensil retracts back into the body by sliding through the grip into the first open end of the body.

A free end of the clip includes a detent that can be received by a corresponding indentation of an exterior surface of an external portion of the barrel when the cap is assembled with the barrel. The detent of the clip and the indentation of the barrel are capable of securing the cap and the barrel in their assembled relationship. The writing instrument may be compact. Methods of using a writing instrument include securing a cap of the writing instrument to a barrel of the writing instrument by causing a detent of a free end of a clip of the cap to engage a corresponding indentation of an exterior portion of the barrel.

A holder for a stylus for a mobile device, including a body, an extending portion, and a first attachment feature. The body includes a tip end at one end and an opening at an opposite end. The tip end is configured to cover a tip of the stylus when in the holder. The opening being configured to accept the stylus into the body. The extending portion includes an extending end that extends from the opening in a direction away from the body, and a cap portion at cap end of the arm opposite the extending end of the arm. The cap portion is configured to cover at least a portion of a cap end of the stylus opposite the tip of the stylus. The first attachment feature is configured to removably mate or connect with a corresponding attachment feature of a mobile device or a mobile device case.

A writing system comprises a writing tool comprising a barrel having a first end and a second end, a medium holder having a first end and a second end, the medium holder disposed within the barrel, wherein the medium holder is adapted to support a medium applicator to protrude from the first end of the barrel, and a magnetic core disposed within the barrel proximate to the first end of the barrel.

A combination spinning top including a multiplicity of petals removably retained at spaced apart locations on a circumferential end wall of a central round body to give the combination spinning top the appearance of a flower and to provide balance to enable the combination spinning top to spin on a tip for a longer period of time than it would spin without the petals. Each of the multiplicity of petals retain a writing instrument, the writing instrument also serving as an attaching arm to attach a respective petal to the central body of the spinner top.

A combination spinning top including a multiplicity of petals removably retained at spaced apart locations on a circumferential end wall of a central round body to give the combination spinning top the appearance of a flower and to provide balance to enable the combination spinning top to spin on a tip for a longer period of time than it would spin without the petals. Each of the multiplicity of petals retain a writing instrument, the writing instrument also serving as an attaching arm to attach a respective petal to the central body of the spinner top.

The shell has an exit opening, an access opening with a mounting socket, and a medially located lateral control slot through which the control tab extends. The retention sleeve has a collet, compressed by the compression spring and uncompressed by the control tab. The disk holder has a body with a retention ridge and a pair of lugs extending from each end to retain a marking disk. One marking disk has a circular periphery and the other marking disk has a toothed periphery. The cap is mounted upon either end.

The sharpener includes a blade with a sharpened edge secured to a body with an upper surface, a peripheral surface with a shoulder, waist, and hip, and a lower surface.
