A writing instrument that includes a writing element for depositing a writing material on a support and a plurality of sensors including at least a force sensor and a movement sensor, a communication unit that exchanges data with a remote device a control unit connected to the sensors and to the communication unit in order to transmit to the remote device the measurements provided by the sensors, a memory unit connected to the control unit that stores one or more measurements from the sensors; and a hollow casing that contains at least part of the writing element so that the writing end is exposed, and also houses the sensors, the control unit, the memory unit and the communication unit.

A multifunction pen is provided including a refill for a writing implement such as a ballpoint pen on a tip end side and including an electromagnetic induction-based electromagnetic induction refill on a rear end side such that there is no need to perform a switching operation between the writing refill and the electromagnetic induction refill. Carpenter pencil caliper is a two-piece device that attaches to a carpenter's pencil with a scale, ruler imprint, or rule imprint on the carpenter's pencil wherein this three-piece assembly is then used as a caliper to measure the length, width, and/or height of a workpiece. The component having the writing function can be inserted/extracted into/from a first housing through a second opening of the first housing. When the second opening of the first housing and a third opening of a second housing are engaged in a state in which the component having the writing function has been inserted into the first housing, a resonant circuit is formed that includes a circuit in which a coil inside the first housing and a writing pressure detector inside the second housing are electrically connected to each other.

A position indicator that enables a component having a writing function to be easily replaced. Provided is an electronic pen with a cylindrical housing including an opening at an end portion of the housing on a pen tip side of the housing, a cylindrical member disposed in the housing and fixed to the housing at a part on the pen tip side of the housing, and a core body formed in a rod shape by a material containing a pigment, the core body including a body portion inserted into the cylindrical member through the opening of the housing and a pull-out portion configured to enable the core body to be pulled out of the housing. A diameter of the body portion of the core body inserted into the cylindrical member is larger than a difference between an outer diameter of the cylindrical member and an inner diameter of the cylindrical member.

Provided is an electronic pen with a cylindrical housing including an opening at an end portion of the housing on a pen tip side of the housing, a cylindrical member disposed in the housing and fixed to the housing at a part on the pen tip side of the housing, and a core body formed in a rod shape by a material containing a pigment, the core body including a body portion inserted into the cylindrical member through the opening of the housing and a pull-out portion configured to enable the core body to be pulled out of the housing. A diameter of the body portion of the core body inserted into the cylindrical member is larger than a difference between an outer diameter of the cylindrical member and an inner diameter of the cylindrical member.

In one example in accordance with the present disclosure, an electronic input device housing is described. The housing includes a shaft to house a writing implement. The housing also includes a transformative tip coupled to the shaft to selectively expose the writing implement as it advances through an opening in the transformative tip. An electrically conductive material is formed over the transformative tip. The housing also includes a trigger to advance the writing implement through the opening.

A writing system that includes a reusable notebook including a sheet having a working surface. The working surface includes a printed code including an operative control. The writing system includes a writing instrument configured to capture images of the printed code and a computing device configured to communicate with the reusable notebook and/or the writing instrument. The sheet includes a porous surface located in the working surface. A writing material of the writing instrument comprises solid particles having a particle size greater than a porosity of the porous surface.
