A writeable system that includes pen-like visual feedback and digitization of the stylus strokes. The system incorporates disappearing ink into a stylus (i.e., pen) that is configured to interact with a digitizing layer of an electrophoretic display. The electrophoretic display includes a clear protective sheet that can be written on with the disappearing ink. As the stylus is moved over the display, an ink trail is left on the display, however, after a short amount of time, the ink fades as the writing in replaced with an updated image corresponding to the stylus motion.

A magnetic pen can be used with a magnetic panel. The magnetic pen includes a body with an end portion. A holder made of a magnetic material is attached to the end portion and an internal space is formed in the holder. A magnet having an S pole and an N pole is arranged in the internal space of the holder so that the S pole and the N pole are opposite the magnetic panel.

The artistic whiteboard 10 is made up of an artwork 31 attached on a foam board 32 that is mounted between a screen 41 and a frame 21 with a transparent panel 22. When not in use, the screen hangs behind the artwork so that the view of the artwork is unobstructed. When in use as a whiteboard, the screen is pulled over the artwork downwards and hangs between the artwork and transparent panel so that the artwork is obstructed.

A magnetic erasing device includes a rotating member provided in an internal space of a cylindrical housing, a first magnet and a second magnet attached to the rotating member, and a motor for driving the rotating member. The first magnet is arranged so that the S pole is exposed and the second magnet is attached so that the N pole is exposed. By rotating the rotating member, the magnetic field generated by the first and second magnets is changed.
