METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING PANELS AND PANEL OBTAINED THEREBY
A method may be provided for manufacturing coated panels of the type including at least a substrate and a top layer with a motif. The top layer may be provided on the substrate. The method may involve providing a synthetic material layer on the substrate. A relief may be provided on the surface of the synthetic material layer provided on the substrate. The relief may include a pattern of recesses and/or projections. The relief may be obtained by providing a mask on or in the synthetic material layer. The mask may enable a selective treatment of the synthetic material layer. A material-removing treatment or a material-depositing treatment may be performed on the synthetic material layer, such that the mask at least partially determines the pattern.

Coated panel and method for manufacturing such panel
A coated panel may include at least a substrate and a top layer with a printed motif. The top layer may be provided on the substrate. The top layer may also include a transparent or translucent synthetic material layer, which is provided above the printed motif. The top layer and preferably at least the transparent or translucent synthetic material layer may include a foamable or foamed synthetic material.

Creating a Finishing Pattern on a Garment by Laser
Software and lasers are used in finishing apparel to produce a desired wear pattern or other design. A technique includes determining a fabric's response to a laser, capturing an initial image of a wear pattern on a garment, and processing the initial image to obtain a working image in grayscale. The working image is further processed to obtain a difference image by comparing each pixel relative to a dark reference. The difference image is converted to a laser values image by using the previously determined fabric response to the laser.
Isotropic etchback method of linewidth tailoring multilayer dielectric diffraction gratings for improvement of laser damage resistance and diffraction efficiency
A method of fabricating a multilayer dielectric (MLD) diffraction grating by providing a multilayer stack having a grating layer, and anisotropically etching the grating layer to form grating lines having an initial lineheight, an initial linewidth, and an initial grating duty cycle, that are greater than a target lineheight, a target linewidth, and a target grating duty cycle, respectively. An isotropic wet etch solution is then used to etch back the grating lines to the target lineheight, the target linewidth, and the target grating duty cycle so as to minimize electric field intensities and maximize diffraction efficiency for a given set of MLD illumination conditions.
ITEM WITH ENGRAVING ASSOCIABLE WITH A WEB CONTENT AND METHOD FOR ACCESSING WEB CONTENT ASSOCIATED WITH AN ITEM THROUGH CODES ENGRAVED ON THE ITEM
An item with engraving associable with a web content includes an item body, made of metal or metal alloy, and at least one engraving made on the body of the item, or on an element embedded or mounted in the item body. The at least one engraving represents at least one respective code which is associated with the item and is also associated with a web connection able to show a web content, related to the item. The item includes a ring and/or a piece of jewelry and/or a jewel and/or a watch and/or a medal and/or an item made of a precious metal. The at least one engraved code includes a QR-code and/or an alphanumerical code and/or a bar code.
Laser-formed features
Embodiments are directed to laser-based processes for forming features on the surface of a part. The feature may include a geometric element, a color element, and/or a surface finish element. In some cases, the laser-formed features are formed as a pattern of textured features that produce an aesthetic and/or tactile effect on the surface of the part. In some cases, the texture features may be sufficiently small that they may not be discerned by the unaided human eye. Also, in some cases, a multiple laser-based processes are combined to form a single feature or a finished part having a specific aesthetic and/or tactile effect.

METHOD FOR ADHERING EMBELLISHMENTS TO A GLASS SUBSTRATE
A method for adhering embellishments to a glass substrate. The method provides a depression in the glass matching the shape of the embellishment, allowing for a lower profile and protecting the adhesive from water and solvents, thus reducing the chance of the embellishment falling off of the glass.
