Material removal from inner surface to preserve perception of outer surface aesthetics

A veneer for a wall-mounted keypad may include indicia that are laser cut therethrough and that are representative of functions that may be performed by the keypad. The veneer may include a recess that extends into an inner surface of the veneer, proximate to the indicia. The recess may be shaped such that a perceived aesthetic of an outer surface of the veneer is preserved during formation of the indicia. The recess may for example have an organic shape defined by a curved outer perimeter that does not define any corners.

Optical path modulator and manufacturing method thereof, fingerprint identification apparatus and terminal device

An optical path modulator, applied to a fingerprint identification apparatus, is configured to direct reflected light reflected back from a surface of a finger to an optical detection unit disposed below the optical path modulator, and the optical detection unit is configured to detect the received reflected light, where an array of through holes is arranged between an upper surface and a lower surface of the optical path modulator, and the array of through holes includes a plurality of tilt through holes, where each tilt through hole has a tilt angle greater than 0, and the tilt angle is an angle between an axial direction of the tilt through hole and a normal direction perpendicular to a surface of the optical path modulator. In a case of the same hole depth, a thinner optical path modulator can be obtained.

Advanced cooling system using throttled internal cooling passage flow for a window assembly, and methods of fabrication and use thereof

A window assembly heat transfer system is disclosed in which a window member has a selected transparency to monitored or sensed light wavelengths. One or more passages are provided in the window member for flowing a single-phase or two-phase heat transfer fluid, the passages being optically non-transparent to the monitored or sensed light wavelengths. A mechanism allows either evaporation or condensation of the fluid and/or balancing of a flow of the fluid within the passages. In one embodiment, the window assembly can be made by producing passages in a top surface of a first single plate, optionally producing passages in a bottom surface of a second single plate and bonding the top surface of the first plate to a bottom surface of a second single plate to form the window member with the passage or passages. In another embodiment, the window assembly can be made by providing a core around which the window member material is grown and thereafter removing the core to produce the passage or passages.

Flexible patch including a plurality of through holes which can be adhered to skin and method for manufacturing the same

Exemplary embodiments relate to a skin-adherable flexible patch including a flexible patch layer having one surface that can adhere to skin and configured to support a micro scale semiconductor device; and a plurality of holes passing through from one surface of the flexible patch to the other surface of the flexible patch, and a method for manufacturing the flexible patch.

METHOD FOR LASER CARVING OF PAINT ON AN OUTER SURFACE OF A VEHICLE WHEEL

A method for laser carving of paint on an outer surface of a vehicle wheel includes a step of priming: priming an outer surface of the wheel to form a painted surface; a step of laser carving: carving the primer from a selected area of the wheel by laser to remove the painted surface from the selected area, the selected area having an exposed area with metallic luster, and a step of fine-polish: polishing the outer surface of the wheel to form a fine-polished area at the exposed area. The painted surface on the wheel can be quickly removed to disclose a selected area with metallic luster, while the wheel is prevented from corrosion so as to reduce manufacturing cost and increase precision.

A method for surface decoration of articles comprises the following steps A), B) and C). Step A) comprises applying a base layer to the surface of a main body. The base layer comprises at least one photoluminescent additive. Step B) comprises applying on the base layer a metallization layer configured to make at least partially visible the photoluminescence of said base layer. In particular, step B) comprises a process of deposition of metal particles on the base layer. Step C) comprises applying a transparent coating layer on the base and metallization layers. The above-mentioned method allows to obtain an article with a metallic surface finishing having a luminescence effect which can be perceived especially in low light conditions or under the effect of ultraviolet light.

The present disclosure provides an identification code recognition system, including: a camera configured to capture an image of an entire area of an identification code (ID code) engraved on a workpiece; a scanner configured to scan a partial area including at least one misrecognized character in the entire area of the ID code; and an image analyzer including a memory and a processor, wherein the memory is configured to store the ID code, data related to the ID code, an image captured by the camera, and an image scanned by the scanner, and the processor is configured to analyze the image captured by the camera and the image scanned by the scanner based on an image analysis logic.

Subsurface engraved vehicle light guide

An automotive light guide that displays subsurface engraved indicia to create an optical branding feature or another illuminated design element. In one implementation, the light guide has a body with a primary viewing outer side and a plurality of microablation sites located within the body. From a first viewing angle with respect to the primary viewing outer side, the plurality of microablation sites are configured to appear in a first indicia pattern, and from a second viewing angle, the plurality of microablation sites are configured to appear in a second indicia pattern. In another implementation, the light guide has a body with a planar engraving outer side and a rounded primary viewing outer side. The plurality of microablation sites are etched through the planar engraving side and are viewable as an indicia pattern through the rounded primary viewing outer side.
