Coating apparatus
An apparatus for coating a donor surface that is movable relative to the apparatus with a layer of metallic particles or particles having a metal-like appearance and reflectivity, the particles adhering more strongly to the surface than to one another. The apparatus comprises an application device to apply to the donor surface a fluid stream within which the particles are suspended, a housing surrounds the application device forming an interior plenum for confining the fluid stream, the housing prevents egress of particles from a sealing gap defined between the rim of the housing and the surface to be coated, and a suction source connected to the housing to extract from the plenum excess fluid and particles. In operation, the suction source extracts substantially all particles that are not in direct contact with the donor surface, leaving substantially a single particle layer adhering to the donor surface upon exiting the apparatus.

APPARATUS AND METHOD TO PICK A MAGNETIZABLE OBJECT FROM A GROUP OF MAGNETIZABLE OBJECTS
An apparatus and method to pick a magnetizable object from a group of magnetizable objects having substantially uniform and predetermined respective sizes, the apparatus including an elongated magnet having a major axis, and a rigid dielectric material having an aperture, the rigid dielectric material positioned relative to the elongated magnet in order to present an opening through the rigid dielectric material along a line collinear with the major axis. The rigid dielectric material is movable, relative to the elongated magnet, in a direction parallel to the major axis between a first position at which at least a portion of the elongated magnet is within the aperture, and a second position at which no part of the elongated magnet is within the aperture.

SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING PIXELATED MODELING COMPOUND ARTWORK
A system, kit, device, and method for generating pixelated modeling compound art is provided. The system or kit can include a modeling tool, a substrate, a plurality of modeling compounds, and optionally a leveler. The modeling tool may include one or more characteristics identifying specific distinct cells or portions of cells of the modeling tool that are associated with a specific modeling compound having a distinct characteristic, e.g., a color. The specified modeling compound may be pressed or inserted into apertures in the cells to provide a plurality of individual volumes of modeling compound deposited on the substrate. The modeling tool may be removed, leaving the pixelated modeling compound art present on the substrate.

Pixel art crayon and marker photo array assembly and kit
Aspects herein are directed to an apparatus and method for creating pixelated artwork composed of coloring element pixels. In some embodiments, a system converts the millions of pixels and colors of a digital image to a simplified color template with numbers assigned to particular colors. In one embodiment, a plastic grid is configured to cover the color template and receives crayons whose arrangement is determined by the numbers/colors of the color template.
