Systems and methods for assisting with color selection
Systems and methods for color selection are provided. A user device is configured to receive a room type selection from a plurality of room types displayed on a display of the user device, to receive a purpose selection from a plurality of purposes displayed on the user device, to determine a plurality of recommended paint colors based on the room type selection and the purpose selection, and to display the plurality of recommended paint colors on the display of the user device. The determination of the plurality of recommended paint colors is made with a lookup table that associates particular room types and purposes with recommended paint colors.
Paint color selection and display system and method
A color selection and display system. A computing device comprises a display, a memory storing a color matrix comprising a plurality of virtual paint chips each virtual paint chip representing a specified paint color, a user interface configured for receiving input data identifying a selected color and a processor configured to control the display to automatically display the color matrix such that the selected color is highlighted in the virtual paint chip arrangement. In embodiments, a retail paint chip display comprises a plurality of paint chips in a specified layout such that the relative location of each virtual paint chip in the color matrix corresponds to the layout of the retail paint chip display. In embodiments, a rendered scene is displayed based on a base image and at last one paintable surface defined by a plurality of locations in the base image.
WOOD GRAIN COLOR REPRODUCTION METHOD
A method of manufacturing a wood stain display sample includes optically scanning a wood sample including a wood stain with a computing device to generate a digital image of the wood stain. The method includes altering the digital image by adjusting a color of one or more portions of the digital image to correlate the color of the one or more portions to a color gamut of a xerographic printing process to form a color-adjusted digital image. The method includes printing the color-adjusted digital image to a substrate using a xerographic printing process to form the wood stain display sample. The printing includes printing an underlay toner to the substrate. The underlay toner includes a white or a transparent color. The printing includes printing a yellow, magenta, cyan, and black toner over the underlay toner. The printing includes printing an overlay toner to the black toner.
Paint switch test device and method
A paint swatch test device includes a transparent or translucent substrate, such as a sheet of polymeric material, and a plurality of different primer coating patches on the substrate. The patches preferably form a grayscale series of neutral white and gray primer patches having stepwise increments in light reflectance values. The patches can also be provided on an opaque substrate. The color suitability and/or hiding power of a topcoat paint desired to be applied to a surface to be painted can be determined by coating the topcoat paint on at least a portion of a surface of the transparent or translucent substrate, providing a grayscale series of patches between the paint coating and the surface to be painted, and observing the appearance of the paint coating where patches are beneath the coating and where patches are not beneath the coating.
Uroll Paint Dispenser
Disclosed are several variations of a device that is capable of dispensing small amounts of paint. The disclosed device may be used as a paint tester and a tool to perform small touch up and repair jobs on painted surfaces. The device will come preloaded with a small amount of paint and an applicator. The packaging is designed to promote mixture of the colorant and application of such colorant to the applicator. The adherence of colorant to the applicator is designed to occur as a one step process, as a user is removing an applicator from its packaging so as to apply a small measure of colorant to a surface. The packaging is also designed to maximize convenience by providing for a clean and drip resistant deployment of paint and virtually eliminating cleanup.
PAINT COLOR AND TINTING STATION
A paint color analysis station has a main body with a front exterior surface and a rear exterior surface. A paint sampling portion and a drying portion are disposed on the front exterior surface of the main body. The paint sampling portion has a paint sampling surface extending outwardly from the front exterior surface of the main body at an angle that is less than 90 degrees. The drying portion has a main body and an overhang disposed directly above the paint sampling portion. The overhang includes an opening configured to receive a drying device. At least one hanging portion and at least one storage portion are also disposed on the paint color analysis station. The at least one hanging portion and the at least one storage portion are configured to conveniently organize and house various paint analysis tools and accessories when not in operation.
Adjustment device capable of automatically reconciling paint detection color effect
The invention discloses an adjusting device capable of automatically reconciling a paint to detect a color effect, comprising a base, a support, a top body and an auxiliary body. The support body and the auxiliary body are fixed on the top surface of the base. A support body is located on the left side of the auxiliary body, and the top body is fixed on the top surface of the auxiliary body. The support body is provided with two upwardly-opening storage chambers, and the two storage chambers can be stored in For paints of different colors, the top surface of the base can be placed with a reconciliation barrel. The reconciliation barrel is provided with a reconciliation cavity with an upward opening, and a connection cavity is provided on the lower side of the storage cavity. It can be more stable and uniform, and can prevent the paint from drying out and wasting. It can also continuously detect the color during the blending process, which can make the color of the paint more accurate.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR SELECTING PAINT COMPOSITIONS PER LAYER BASED ON SUBSTRATE CONDITIONS
Expert system and method for computing an application procedure for painting vinyl panels a target color at a paint application site while preventing vinyl warping. A target reflectivity indicator is computed for the vinyl panels once painted. When the target color and target reflectivity indicator are met by application of the multiple paint layers, the application procedure computed identifies a pigmentable waterborne paint composition, one or more proportioned paint pigments to achieve the target color at a predictable transmissivity and a preparatory waterborne paint composition considering a corresponding predictable reflectivity. Applying the pigmentable waterborne paint composition, once pigmented with the one or more proportioned paint pigments, over the preparatory waterborne paint composition meets the target reflectivity indicator for the vinyl panels at the target color. Instructions are then sent to a remote device comprising the application procedure for painting the vinyl panels at the target color while preventing vinyl warping.
Paint mixing system
Described in detail herein is an automated paint mixing system. The paint mixing system includes a mobile device which can receive an input associated with a color of a paint. The mobile device can transmit the input associated with a color to a first computing system. The first computing system can receive the input associated with a color. The first computing system retrieve an identifier associated with the color based on the input. The first computing system can transmit the identifier associated with the color to a second computing system. The second computing system can instruct a paint dispenser to mix and generate a specified amount of paint of the requested color based on the received identifier. The second computing system can instruct a 3-D printer to fabricate a three-dimensional container configured to store the generated paint. The paint dispenser can deposit the generated paint in the three-dimensional container.
AUTOMATED PAINT MACHINE WITH CUSTOM ORDER CAPABILITY
Embodiments of a vending system are disclosed for delivering custom paints, permitting automated paint mixing and dispensing without the need for assistance. Customizable paint may be ordered locally or remotely, possibly with improved color matching that leverages color references to compare a known color with a color as observed within an image provided by the customer. Dimensional estimates of the surface to be painted may be possible using scale references within an image provided by the customer, to provide quantity suggestions. Common consumer products, having packaging of known color and dimensions, placed within the image provided by the customer may provide both color references and scale references. A preview function may replicate the image provided by the customer, but indicating the new paint color, as adjusted according to an analysis of one or more color references.
