The invention relates to a device for tensioning a canvas on a frame, which is for assembling two bars the ends of which comprise a groove. The device comprises: an optional sheath intended to be immobilized in a groove; a spacer comprising a central portion from which extend two lateral portions each having a bearing face coming to abut against the bottom of the sheath; a tensioner comprising a central portion from which extend securing means for securing the tensioner to the bars, via the sheath; a connecting member for connecting the spacer to the tensioner, and means for bringing the spacer closer to the tensioner, wherein the spacer being brought closer to the tensioner will cause each bar to translate along its longitudinal axis so as to space the bars apart from each other while keeping them perpendicular to each other.

One or more water-based markings may be absorbed by the receiving layer at multiple segmented components and may be prevented from transferring throughout the receiving layer by the fluid-resistance boundaries. The one or more water-based markings may be absorbed at multiple segmented components in a manner that creates a pixel canvas artwork. Both a system for producing a pixel canvas artwork and a method for creating a pixel canvas artwork may include components similar to the pixel canvas art apparatus that may be used to create a pixel canvas artwork.

A mess-free coloring system comprising a coloring medium and optionally one or more coloring utensils is disclosed. The coloring medium can include a substrate with or without decorative effects and one or more coating layers on a surface of the substrate. In various examples, the one or more coating layers include a color-triggering developer, e.g., in the form of a substantially clear resin, and an opaque pigment. Decorative effects integrated with or disposed on the substrate, while initially obscured by the one or more coating layers, can be revealed when the coating layers are mixed with at least one color precursor stored and dispensed from a coloring utensil. The opaque pigment is selected and configured such that, upon receipt of at least one color precursor by the one or more coating layers, a change in the pigment's reflective index occurs as the pigment dissolves into the clear resin developer.

A mess-free coloring system comprising a coloring medium and optionally one or more coloring utensils is disclosed.
