Chalk line device
A chalk line device includes a housing, a spool, a chalk line, a hook, and a cap. The housing defines an outer surface and an internal chamber, and the housing includes an opening. The spool is supported in the internal chamber for rotation relative to the housing. The chalk line extends through the opening of the housing and the chalk line includes a first end and a second end. At least a portion of the chalk line is wrapped around the spool. The hook is secured to the first end of the chalk line and includes a tip adapted to engage a work piece. The cap is removably coupled to the housing to cover the opening. The cap includes a nozzle through which the chalk line extends and a projection for engaging and releasably securing the hook against the cap.

Chalk line
A chalk line is disclosed herein. The chalk line may include a housing, a track, and a door. The housing may define a chalk chamber and an opening in communication with the chalk chamber. The track may be disposed adjacent the opening and may include a curved section. The door may be movable between a closed position preventing access to the chalk chamber through the opening and an open position allowing access to the chalk chamber through the opening, and the door may include one or more door segments pivotably connected to one another by one or more hinges.

Reel-to-reel chalk line
An apparatus and method for a reel-to-reel chalk line comprising a first housing comprising a first reel, a first rotatable crank mechanism connected to the first reel, and a first chalk bin comprising apertures for allowing the passage of a continuous impregnable chalk line. The apparatus further comprises an opposed second housing comprising a second rotatable reel, a second crank mechanism connected to the second reel, and a second chalk bin comprising apertures for allowing passage of the continuous impregnable chalk line. The continuous impregnable chalk line is reeled about the first and second reels as the respective crank mechanisms are alternately rotated forward and backward. The chalk may include a variety of substances including powders, reactive powders, liquids, dyes, glass, minerals, plastics, ceramics, metals, and fibers. The continuous chalk line may comprise interconnected impregnable chalk lines joined by mechanical or chemical means forming the continuous impregnable chalk line.

Chalk Box with Chalk Reel Spool Groove
A spool for a chalk box may include a core member extending substantially parallel to an axis of rotation of the spool, a first sidewall disposed in a plane substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation of the spool at a first end of the core member, and a second sidewall disposed in a plane substantially parallel to the first sidewall at a second end of the core member. The string may be configured to be retained on the spool by being wound onto the core member. The first sidewall may include a first anchorage orifice and a second anchorage orifice spaced apart from each other and each passing through the first sidewall from an inside surface of the first sidewall to an outside surface of the first sidewall. A spool groove may be formed on the outside surface of the first sidewall extending from the first anchorage orifice to the second anchorage orifice.
